No Instructions
Lots of jiggling until I found the screws to remove. After finally getting the top off the base there was the Instructions on a pamphlet taped to the bottom. The key tho get the top off is to remove the face and remove the proper screws( they are identifiable)unplug the electric plug 2 screws on the back sides and poof it is free!

Large burner would not get hot
Repair was very simple. Removed 2 screws under the cooktop, tilt the cooktop back, unplug 4 wires from 8" burner, remove two screws holding retaining clips, install new burner in reverse order. Very simple!

Left rear element would not get hot.
FIRST TURN OFF THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS THAT POWER THE COOKTOP!! Remove the cooktop from the counter by removing the screws from the mounting straps under the counter. Then remove the screws that hold the glass cooktop to the frame and lift off the glass top. Next lift up the bad element and unplug one wire from the bad element and plug it into the new element. Make sure to put it on the exact same terminal of the new element. Do this for all the wires. Remove the two mounting tabs from the old element and put them on the new element. Turn on circuit breakers and your done.

Burner "burned out" so we replaced the one and replaced the other that seemed to be cooling down.
Basically removed the screws holding the op on and removed the vent from back. Just "figured it out" and now it works. Wish I could be more helpful. Recommend moderate experience and confidence.

Hello Rosa, Thank you for contacting us. I have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you are looking for is PartSelect Number PS243905 for the elements. The faceplate with the numbers around the knobs has been discontinued sorry. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

My switch went out and my 8" burner wouldn't come on. Had a repair man replace the switch. Burner won't come on until set to med then get really hot and go off. I bought another switch and replaced the one he put in and it still won't come until med then hot and can't control the heat. Do I need a new burner? That's all I can figure. Thanks

Hello Randy, Thank you for the question. If the switch is properly installed, the limiter on the element could be defective. The Limiter is only sold as part of the element, so the element will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

I replaced a mechanically defective controller. Both the new replacement infinite controllers get stuck on after the eye warms up (after a couple of cycles on setting two). I can hear the controller click but the eye stays on. Could this be a problem with the burner? All wires and connections seem ok.

Hi Tom, Thank you for your question. Usually in this situation, the burner switches would have to be replaced. I would recheck the switches and I would also check the burners and the wiring between the parts to see what is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Burner will only heat if you turn knob to high. Let it get hot, then bring knob back to desired temp. Should i replace burner?
For model number JBP66BB1AD

Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing your burner first. Then you should also test your switch to. It could really be either of those parts. Good luck with your repair.

Where can i find the correct model number for surface element replacement if the model number is not on the back of the range or the owner's manual. There is a series of numbers on the actual element but not sure which one is the correct one. Please help!
PartSelect logo
Hello Elena, Thank you for your inquiry. You can also find the model number in the lower storage drawer, on a plate on the frame beside the storage door, on the lip of the oven cavity with the oven door open or on the side. Hope this helps!
