Product Description

Surface Element - 8 Inch - 2350W Specifications

The surface element, also known as the coil surface element, transfers heat to the area on top of range. The element is 8 inches in diameter. If your surface element does not heat, over heats, or heats inconsistently, replacing this part can be the solution to your issue. To determine whether the element is defective, use a multimeter to test it. Before installing the new element, make sure the drip bowl is properly aligned with the notch of the pan. Insert the new element into the reciprocal at a 40 degree angle. Refer to the instructions provided by the manufacturer for more guidance.

I’m trying to find drip bowls for my stove LG is 8 in small not sure. Just need new ones. My stove is electric
For model number ??
PartSelect logo
Hi Joan, Thank you for your question. Before we can assist you further we would need the model number from your stove. Here is a link from our website that you may reference on where to find the model number on your appliance, https://www.partselect.com/Find-Your-Range-Model-Number.aspx. If your stove has a bottom drawer where you store pots and pans, pull the drawer out and on the left or right frame, sometimes on the frame where the drawer shuts onto, you will find a tag with both the model and serial numbers on it. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

One of the 8" elements on our GE electric stove top is has developed a "hot spot" were it burns a brighter orange than the rest of the element. I figure this is a sign that it needs to be replaced, though it still works. I bought a generic replacement element from my local hardware store, but "legs" of the element where it plugs in were to long so the element would not sit in the drip pan. Is that because it was generic, not OEM?
For model number JP328WK2WW
PartSelect logo
Hi Ben, thank you for reaching out. Yes, the generic part will not work with your model, you will need to order the compatible part. The part number is PS243868. If you need help placing an order for it, please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

I needed new surface elements & burner bowls
This was about the simplest fix I've ever done. Just pulled off the old surface elements & burner bowls, wiped down the range top, and put in the new parts. Perfect fit. No problems at all. $$ well spent. ParsSelect shipped quickly, and they arrived well packaged. A+ experience all around. Thanks PartSelect. JA, San Ramon, CA

Replacement of Coils
Removed by slightly wiggling out of the coupling. No tools needed, seriously, (and I'm a contractor). Basically, pull out and snap back in.

Heating element required continuous adjustments to work.
I removed old 8" surface element and terminal block. Some of old wiring had to be cut off because of harding/cracking of old wiring. Stove was 23 years old and this burner was the most frequently used one. I soldered the new and remaining old wires together. I used the shirnk wrap that came with the terminal block to cover the solder joint. I screwed the new terminal block (one screw holds it in place - used same screw from old terminal block that was removed). I finished by inserting the new surface element. Everything works fine. In the next week or two after we use it a while, I will check wiring again to make sure there are no changes. You need to be very careful as it gets very hot under the burner.

The Drip pans were unusable due to excessive use, and I decided to replace the Surface Elements as well.
There was nothing to it...I unplugged the Sufrace Elements from thier bases, removed the Drip Bowls, replaced the Drip Bowls and then plugged the Surface Elements back in to thier bases. The entire process could not have taken more than two minutes.

Burners were not level and did not heat evenly
The burners were not level and would heat more on one side than the other. Since the range was 21 years old and would cost a lot to replace, I decided to replace the burners and
treat myself to new drip bowls. I Googled and got the information on the range including part numbers. I ordered them and am very happy. It was very easy to replace the old ones. Only problem the large drip bowl was dented but on sending an email to compamy, a new one is being sent. I am very happy at the ease since I am a retired widow of 76 years old. It pays some time to take care of the old and do a little reapair instead of spending a lot of money on relacement when every thing else is in excellent condition.
Thanks for making this a very easy experience.

element was loose, heated erratically
The cause of the problem was that I had installed a generic replacement recepticle earlier. Parts Select had the correct part. It came with handy wire nuts to help connect to range wires to the recepticle wires.
