Wrong part did not work. Wrong part.
Your parts diagrams a very poor and do not represent the proper models. My microwave is a Hotpoint but when I put in the model number a GE comes up. I realize the are suppose to be the same but the parts are in different locations on the two brands. Your instance repairman was a salesman not a repair man. Information on how to test parts on your site is also incorrect. Other people have questioned how to test the part I order and you sill gave them wrong information. Now I am stuck with a part I do not need.
Dear Gary,
Our experts have responded to your recent question! You can view your answer below.
Your Question:
Hotpoint rvm1435bd002 My microwave continued to run after the door was open then after a few days stopped working. The key pad works but when you hit start you hear a chick but nothing happens. I checked all of the door switches (3) for continuity and the are ok. The thermal fuse (lower right corner behind the key pad panel on a vertical wall) did not have continuity so i ordered a new one but when i plug it in the vent fan on the microwave comes on and will not turn off or change speed using the key pad. The new thermal fuse does not look like the old one. Is it possible that the part i needed to replace was a thermoprotector/thermostat cut out? The parts diagram is very hard to see on the computer.
Answer:
Hello Gary, thank you for inquiring. The correct Line Fuse for your model is part PS239525. The symptom may be fixed by replacing the Thermal Fuse part PS239811, the Thermostat Cut-Out part PS239319, or the Hood Thermostat part PS239318. We hope this helps.

Microwave stopped working it lost complete power
Upon taking the faceplate off (unplugged power source first) I found one of the wires going to the THERMO SW-TCO SENSE TEMP was completely burned away. I cut back the wire and spliced a new section with heat shrink connectors and I replaced the THERMO SW-TCO SENSE TEMP. I plugged the power back in and it works great.

The thermostat that sits behind the control panel, on the lower right side, mounted on the vertical plate behind the control panel, and pointing toward the rear of the unit - this thermostat is bad, it shows zero conductivity and infinite resistance with a meter. Which part number is this particular thermostat? I believe it trips at 248 degrees Fahrenheit.
For model number JVM1660SB001
Hi Joe,
Thanks for your question. The Thermostat listed for the model number JVM1660SB001 is part number PS239811.
I hope this helps!

Dear parts select, following one of your useful youtube videos, I removed the front control panel on the GE microwave. On the bottom right hand side there is a thermal fuse. It failed the continuity test. Can you please tell me if wb27x1127 is the correct replacement part for this? I truly appreciate your help as well as your extremely clear youtube videos!
For model number PVM1790DR1CC
Hi Jim, Thank you for contacting us and the kind words. We are very happy we could help you. Checking the model number the thermal fuse is part number PS2339856 and we are just calling it a thermostat. Good luck with the repair!

How do i get to the door switch and test it ps1993466 and ps12071302
For model number FFMV164LSA
Hello Dan, thank you for the question. You will need to remove the outer case of the microwave to access the door switches int he latch assembly. If you are not familiar with repairing microwaves, it is recommended you call a repair man. Microwaves can hold a strong charge even when unplugged for hours and can cause injury. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

My microwave doesn't want to turn on when i turn it on to cook, i can hear a click and then the timer starts to count down. What could it be? Thanks
For model number JVM1750SM1SS
Hi Miguel, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that you may want to check. I would suggest first checking all three of your door micro switches and making sure they are working. They can be tested with a multi meter, they should be reading 0 ohms to be working. If those parts are fine then you may want to look at your thermostats and your fuses. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My GE microwave turns on but does not heat. I checked a youtube video and it says to replace part # wbx27x1127. Is this the correct part? If so I will order it from you.
For model number HVM1540SM1SS
Hello Ken, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to replace either the Diode part PS1481239, the Primary Door Interlock Switch part PS237015, the High Voltage Capacitor part PS2353613, or the Magnetron part PS1481236. We hope this helps.

My microwave has stopped working, model number jvm1750sp2ss. It was working fine until a couple of week ago the first thing i noticed the fan started running when i opened the door everything else seemed to be working normally. I went to use it last night the fan did not run when i opened the door and when i put the cook time in and pressed start the light came on like normal but that was it other than the timer counting down. Can help me pinpoint the problem. Thanks
For model number JVM1750SP2SS
Hello Alex, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: Diode, Door Switches (Monitor and Secondary), thermal fuse, thermostat, and thermostat cut out. You can test the parts with a multi-meter. For safety reasons, since the microwave capacitor can still store electricity even when the microwave is unplugged, it is usually advised that you discharge the capacitor before any attempt at repair. I have included a link on how to do so.

Dear help dept. My microwave quit working, have power to control panel and lights, but kicks off when I apply the power to heat. Can be restored after tapping on the right-side panel. I ordered a thermal fuse, replaced that, but that didn't do it. What part do I need? Thanks
For model number jvm1750dp1ww
Hi Don, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the door switches with a multi meter. They should all read close to or on 0 ohms to be working. Hope this helps!

Our microwave works fine if we can get the control panel to accept our instructions. You never know what numbers will work. Today the number 1 worked so you could run it for 1 minute on high. Some days you get press the 30 sec key and do it repeatedly until you get the number of minutes you want. It is almost as if grease has gotten between the keypad and the actual electronics. Any suggestions
For model number jvm1540wmc
Hello Donald, thank you for your question. It sounds like the keypad is bad. Unfortunately, the key pad has been discontinued and is no longer available. For more information please contact the manufacturer directly. I hope this helps!

My GE profile microwave went dark right after opening the door. All lights were off and it had no power. Checked power cord and opened and closed door a few times more and power came back on. Light inside is flickering badly. Works intermittently. Do you think the thermal fuse wb27x1127 is the correct part to fix this issue? The outlet power is fine.
For model number Pvm1870sm3ss
Hi Maria, I would start by replacing the light bulb. It could have been damaged by the power going out. You could try testing both fuses as well with a multimeter. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
The thermostat behind the control panel on the vertical plate lower right side reads 0 conductivity. My unit is powerless. Could this be the problem?
For model number pvm1870sm3ss
Hi Dennis,
Thank you for your question. At room temperature, testing the thermal fuse should produce a reading of zero. But if a thermal fuse is tested when it is heated to its limit, a reading of infinity should be produced. We strongly recommend that you test your thermal fuse at room temperature. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
