OEM Replacement Part
Same as the one that fell apart. This is the third one I’ve replaced. Of course, it full perfectly. The fabrication of this part is pretty crappy. Metal parts that should be hardened are not. Very expensive for what you get. Parts Select’s service is great.

Shipped very fast, easy repair....
The auger is different from the original one. It doesn't have the extra plastic over the metal spiral part, making it slower moving the ice forward and into a glass. Maybe they changed the design because the plastic auger broke too often. Anyway...we have ice again!

The small plastic cap at the back of the ice drawer (part #wr29x10076) broke. I just need the cap, not the whole drawer. Can i just purchase that part?
For model number PFSS6PKXCSS
Hi Duane,
That is a great question. Sadly, the cap is sold with the ice bucket assembly with auger and it is not sold separately. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you and have a great day!

Ice cubes are forming into ice blocks on this model. Any ides?
For model number GE PFSS6PKXDSS
Hi Gene,
Thank you for the question, if the ice maker is failing to make the ice cubes and is forming a block of ice you would have a defective Ice maker Assembly, Part Number: PS2577893. Hope this helps!

The refrigerator is GE #PFSF6PKXCBB. The auger will not turn. The switch and motor work just fine without the ice bucket in place. I've looked closely and don't see anything blocking it. I also don't see just how the auger can be removed. Suggestions? Thank you.
For model number PFSF6PKXCBB
Hello Karl, Thank you for the question. since the parts to the Auger and Bucket are not sold, the bucket will need to be replaced PartSelect Number PS2371090. Hope this helps!

The ice maker is not filling with water to make ice? Is this controlled by the ice maker assembly?
For model number PFSS6PKXASS
Hi Daniel. It can be or it could be a faulty water/inlet valve. We have an entire article on it here: https://www.partselect.com/Repair/Refrigerator/Not-Making-Ice/. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
Followup question on not making ice. I should had added that the water dispenser is working fine in the door, but no water going to the ice maker. So if the water dispenser is working could the water valve still be bad for the ice maker? Or is my problem defiantly in the ice maker assembly? Thanks,
For model number PFSS6PKXASS
Hi Daniel, thank you for your question. Yes, even if your water dispenser is working it could still be your valve that is the issue. It is always best to test that part. The valve has two solenoids, one for the ice maker and one for the water dispenser. Even if the water dispenser is working the ice maker may not be, or vise versa. So it would still be worth it to test the valve just in case. Usually if that is not the issue then the issue is in the ice maker itself. Good luck with your repair.

Finding pcs. of plastic and styrofoam in crushed ice
For model number Pfsf6pkxdww
Hi Eddie,
Thank you for your question. If you are in an area with hard water, the pieces you are finding in the ice may be mineral deposits. If they are not, you will need to inspect your refrigerator to see where these parts pieces are coming from. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

ice maker makes ice but water is leaking into the ice bucket assembly from somewhere and it freezes in the bottom of the bucket making it difficult for ice to be dispensed. Now the bucket is frozen and can't be removed
For model number PFSS6PKXASS
Hello Rich, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the water line coming to the ice maker for any damage. If this is not the issue, you may need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS2338130, to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!
How do you keep the cap on the auger so it doesn't come off?
Hi Hubert,
Thank you for your question. Make sure that when the cap is installed that it is installed on an angle and that it is rotated into place and secured on the auger. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
