Control module went out - causing the heating element to super heat, melting several of the plastic interior parts
I replaced the control module, and effected plastic interior parts - tested wihout heat, then re-tested with heat dry - performed beautifully. This is a pretty expensive unit that would cost around $1500 to replace new. And, Sears wanted $1500 to repair, so I saved a bunch doing it myself for about $350.

I am looking for instructions to change out sump pump /filter. Can you help?
For model number PDW7880J03SS
Hello Frank,
Thanks for your question. Unplug the dishwasher and turn off the water supply. Open the door and pull out the lower dishrack. Remove the lower sprayarm by turning it counterclockwise. Then turn the fine filter hub nut counterclockwise and remove it. Take the fine filter by the plastic piece and lift the old filter off. Lift up the tab at the base of the water supply tube and remove it. Turn the hub away and take off the filter cover. Release the locking tabs to remove the filter. Push the new filter into the opening until it locks, then reverse the procedure to put your parts back in the dishwasher.
I hope this helps.

In cleaning my dishwasher, I found that the gasket for the filter is starting to disintegrate. How can I order a new one? How necessary is this gasket?
The filter Parts Select No. PS2370522
The filter Manufacturer No. WD22X10077
I cannot find the gasket in the parts list, so I have no number for it.
Thank you.
For model number PDWT180VOOSS
Hi Joanne, thank you for your inquiry. The gasket does not come separately, you may need to replace the entire sump filter and cover assembly, part number PS2370522. This gasket is necessary to retain the cover inlet above the sump filter. If you need help placing an order for it, please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi, Our dishwasher started leaking from the bottom. So I took it out and laid it on its side. I then started to take it apart looking for obvious problems, when I discovered that the inlet sump had a tear in its side. After removing it there was a round valve in the bottom of it with a flap that had out printed on it. It looks like it belongs to the end of the sump filter going by the shape of it. But I am not sure, plus it doesn't want to stay attached to the sump filter. What do I do now?
