Ps2370190. Should this part read open or closed with ohm meter

Hi Larry, thank you for your question. If your thermostat is working it should read 0 ohms or very close to 0 ohms when you are testing it. If it has no reading at all then it is defective and needs to be replaced. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The microwave fan will not shut off. Push the fan button and it just goes to low speed. Have to unplug it. The microwave itself works fine.

The magnetron works by taking the electrical energy supplied to the oven and converting it into high-frequency electromagnetic waves. These waves are then directed into the cooking compartment by a waveguide, where they are absorbed by the food, causing the water molecules within the food to vibrate and produce heat.
