Ordered wrong part
The diagram for the model was difficult to read and not very clear. I ended up buying the wrong part and had to reorder the right part and pay shipping twice. Good services but difficult to order parts

What would cause total loss of power? Perhaps an internal fuse. Already checked circuit breaker. The microwave was working fine and suddenly it wouldn't turn back on and nothing worked - not even the light switch.
For model number JVM6175EF1ES
Hi Sue,
Thank you for your question. If the microwave is not working, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the door switches, the light socket and the thermal fuse. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Thermal fuse is shot but the plastic casing that it plugs up into is also melted a little and turned brown. What is the part number for the thermal fuse and do i need to replace the plastic casing it plugs into as well?
For model number JVM6175SF1SS
Hello Elizabeth thank you for your question. The fuse is PartSelect Number: PS2370184. As long as it can be mounted the plastic should be ok, and should not need to be replaced. I hope this helps.

In order to check the internal microwave fuse, how do i remove the front control panel from the microwave? I have not been able to find a complete parts schematic that might show the screws that hold the front panel on
For model number JVM6175DF1BB
Hello Rick, thank you for your question. To access the inside of the unit where the thermostats are the vent would have to be removed first. The top vent is held to the unit with 2 screws. Once that is removed there should be one or two screws that holds the control panel to the frame. Once that is removed the control panel can be pulled forward and the wires disconnected. I hope this helps!

Will not turn on, message on panel says check for service. Makes beeping sound. Could this be a fuse needed ?
For model number JVM1540DP1WW
Hi Carla, Thank you for the question. I suggest unplugging the appliance until the beeping stops, this will reset the control board. This can take about 48 hours since Microwaves hold a charge for a while after it has been unplugged. Hope this helps!

Microwave runs just fine but does not heat up? Could it be a fuse?
For model number JVM6175SF1SS
Hi John, Thank you for the question.I suggest testing the Diode, Part Number: PS239740 and the Magnetron, Part Number: PS2370172. These two parts are responsible for creating the heat. You will need a Multi Meter to test the parts to determine the defective part. If the fuse was blown the microwave would act as if it didn't have power. Hope this helps!

My microwave went dead in the middle of cooking. I have power at the outlet. Is this a fuse or control board issue?
For model number JVM6172RF1SS
Hello Tom,
Thanks for your question. The parts I will recommend should only be tested and replaced by a licensed technician, as your microwave can contain electrical charges even after being unplugged. Have the door switches, thermal fuse, transformer, and thermoprotectors tested for continuity and replace any that do not show continuity.
I hope this helps.

MY GE microwave lost all power I checked the main fuse in the microwave and it has continuity. I know there are other fuses. There are two fuses which appear to be either the thermo fuse or TCO fuse. The fuse labeled "1603 KSD-40LC 70" did not have continuity. the fuse labeled "1603 KSD-120LC 0" had continuity. I assume the first one is not working. Should this fuse show continuity? What is the equivalent replacement part #?
For model number JVM6175sk1ss
Hello Jerry, thank you for your question. This would be your thermal fuse. At room temperature, testing the thermal fuse should produce a reading of zero. But if a thermal fuse is tested when it is heated to its limit, a reading of infinity should be produced. We hope this helps.
