During forced defrost, heating element does not get warm. Is this a bad heating element, or could it be a something "upstream" from the heating element, like a bad thermostat or bad control board?
For model number FGHF2344MP Frigidaire
Hello Dan, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the defrost heater, thermostat and the dispenser control board with a multimeter to see if they are functioning properly. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

Hi, I have a fridge that is -16 on the bottom and 26 on the top. Can you tell me which part might be required to repair this
For model number FGUN2642LF6
Hello Craig, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the fan motor in the freezer to see if it is working to circulate the air. PartSelect Number PS1526073. If the fan is working you can test the Defrost Thermostat PartSelect Number PS2378768. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps!
Freezer is warm, hovering around 14-17 F, fridge section is fine (36-37F). I found the evaporator coil in the freezer section is completely covered with heavy frost. Try force defrost manually (pressing the up and the down arrow on the control panel at the same time) no heat and doesn't melt the frost. Tested the continuity for the defrost thermostat and the heating element and they have continuity. What should I look at next? Thank you

Hello Bill, Thank you for the question. If both Defrost Heaters and Thermostats are good, you may have a Defrost Timer issues. The timer for this model is built into the control board so the board will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
My freezer 0 and freezer good but my top fridge portion is warm and temperature up and down mostly going up. What Is the problem?
For model number LGHN2844MF0
Hello Rahila, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the Evaporator Fan Motor. The motor is located in the freezer and circulates the Cold air through the appliance and into the Fresh Food Section to keep it cool. You can also check the Air Damper to make sure it is opening and closing normally allowing the air to circulate. We hope this helps!
Freezer is really hot. Cabinet is hot 99 degrees inside. Heater seems to be stuck on or something. What do you think
For model number FGHN2866PF4A
Hello Shawn, Thank you for the question. This could indicate the appliance is stuck in Defrost Mode. We suggest testing the Defrost Heater. The correct resistance should be around 28 ohms of resistance. We hope this helps!

Can I do a manual defrost on my freezer? My freezer is not defrosting and is all ice over? Thanks
For model number EW23BC85KS4
Hello Chris, Thank you for the question. Switch off the appliance, or pull out the electrical plug from the wall socket. Remove the food from the freezer and store it in a cool place. Leave the door open and protect the floor from the defrosting water. In order to speed up the defrosting process, place a pot of warm water in the freezer compartment. In addition, remove pieces of ice with an ice scraper before defrosting is complete. When defrosting is complete, dry the interior thoroughly. Switch on the appliance. Set the temperature control to the lowest temperature. Wait at least 3 hours before putting the food back into the freezer compartment. If the appliance dos not defrost on its own again, we suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Frost builds up and fan makes noise. In the ice maker section does defrost timer control heater on coil refrigerator cold and so is freezer.
For model number FGHB2866PFGA
Hi Terry, Thank you for the question. The heater is 120 VAC. I suggest testing the heater to see if it has the proper VAC. You will only have this during a defrost cycle. If there is no power, check the thermostat and control board. Hope this helps!
