Repair easier than expected
Parts arrived on time and in perfect condition. Install was easier than expected. Replacing the parts fixed the problem too. If your stove eye is suddenly turning itself to the highest setting and getting stuck there then replacing this part will fix it.

Piece of cake install
I noticed inconsistent heating on one of my stove burners. Since it was over 16 years old I was concerned in parts obsolecense. I pulled up the model number but the number had an extra digit in it. I called partsselect and the agent found the right model number and part and was aware of the manufacturers number discrepancies. The part arrived in a few days and was identical to the original. Simply unplugged each wire one at a time and placed in same position on new part. Burner is like new and functions normally. Excellent customer service from Partselect.

Overheating dual element
Not only did we (my wife did help) replace the dual element but afterwards we realized the control switch was not functioning properly and so that was replaced as well, and now our appliance works as intended. Also the instructions, are helpful as well. We used care not to force or over tighten anything and with two sets of eyes and the e

Remove the top back panel to expose the switch. Remove the switch knob & mounting bezel and then unscrew the 2 mounting screws from the front. Replace the wires one by one and follow the enclosed directions in the event that this is an upgrade for an older switch. Remount the switch from the front and replace the back panel.

Dual burners stay on hi all the time. No regulation.
The hardest part was getting the correct part. I trusted the on line number and the first part I received was incorrect. I should have taken the part number off the old switch. When I did, I found out that the part number changed when I tried to order it. When the part came, the wiring instructions were not even close. I just took one wir

The repair was/is very simple made complex and too much time because of a wrong part and incorrect wiring instructions. As far as getting the incorrect and correct parts through the mail it was very fast. Received both parts in less than 3 days. A bonus is that I sent the old switch back for a rebate. Thanks for that.

Right front burner had no heat control. (High heat when on "Low")
Pull range out of the "hole", and spin so that back of range is accessible. Remove cover over top "control area" on back of range. (Four screws that happen to be the same size as the magnetic socket that holds the interchangeable tip on a cordless screw gun. Simply remove this tip, and use the tip holder as a magnetic nut driver!). Rem

Carefully follow enclosed instructions to move the wires from the old switch to the new switch. Put back together in reverse order.

No control of right front burner (dual burner)
The burner would work but you could not regulate the heat. I ordered and replaced the control switch for that burner. The part was like for like and reasonably priced compared to other websites and dealer. The picture showed that it was identical. I ordered one day and it was here the next. The burner light was on - burner control spun freely
Looked up the part, ordered it, and it was there in 3 days. It was slightly different than the old control, but a very well-written set of instuctions detailed which wires to move to which terminal. The smaller burner of my dual burner doesn't heat when the control is set to the #4 position, every other number setting heats up without hesitation. Will the switch, part # ps236785 correct this?
For model number JB940W0B4WW
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your question. It does sound like it is probably an issue with your switch. You can test it with a multi meter to be sure. If your switch is fine then it may be your element that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

When i turn on the small burner on my dual burner, the whole burner comes on, not just the small burner. I am looking at your switch p/n wb24t10063. Is that the correct part for this Kenmore stove? Also am i correct in thinking the switch is the most likely part to replace?
For model number 911.99004990
Hello Charlie, thank you for your question. Yes, the burner switch would have to be replaced. The switch regulates the small or large burners separately. The part number is PartSelect Number: PS236785. I hope this helps!

my hot light stays on constantly but not real bright when cook top is off and my front left round burner will not come on.
For model number JP989BK1BB
Hello Tim, thank you for your inquiry. If your cooktop indicator light stays on even when the burner is off, then it is not an issue with the light itself. Instead, it is because of a stuck contact in one of the heat switches, so it could be a faulty dual burner control switch. The faulty burner dual control switch, part number PS236785, could also cause your front left burner not to turn on. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

What is the jumper for in the package with the WB24T10063 switch
For model number Jb900sk6ss
Hello Joe, thank you for your question. Jumper wires are electrical wires with connector pins at each end. They are used to connect two points in a circuit without soldering. You can use jumper wires to modify a circuit or diagnose problems in a circuit. We hope this information will help you.

For model number jp989bkbb
Hello Ray, thank you for your question. The most likely issue is the switch itself. Before replacing the switch you can test the element itself, to be sure that isn't the issue. Here is a link for testing.

The hot light stays on all the time
For model number JP989BK1BB
Good Day Russ. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number JP989BK1BB). Based on our research, you may need to replace the Infinite Control Switch (PartSelect Number PS1016429) for on of your burners, or the burner itself. You will need to test the elements with a multi-meter in order to determine which one is faulty and needs to be replaced. We hope this helps. Best Regards.

Help!
Karl
For model number RB536WH4WW
Hi Karl,
Thank you for your question. If the indicator light remains on when the burner is off, check the wiring to make sure that it is not loose and that it is connected correctly. Usually if the indicator light remains on, there is an issue with one of the switches and it will need to be replaced. You should test the switches with a multimeter to if they have continuity. Unplug your appliance before beginning.
Remove the back panel in order to access them. Inspect the wires near the switch for any signs of burning, or overheated wires and terminals. If no issues are found, remove the switches in order to test them. Using a multimeter on Rx1 mode, test for continuity by touching the L1 and H1 terminals with the probes. Once you have completed that test, touch the probes to the L2 & H2 terminals.
If your test results indicate that there is no continuity between one or both sets of terminals, you need a replacement infinite switch. If you need help placing an order for it, customer service is open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
