Burner not regulating temperatures/ ,will replace switch control wb24t10012 solve the problem

The back 6 in.Burner stopped working when the "knob on" indicator light blew out, like shot a Flame (the red cover fell out a few years ago) i replaced the indicator light but the burner and the light (its good) still does not work. Is it the infinite switch or the burner? Should i replace one or both?

The inside small element of the dual element I cannot control the temperature it’s very erratic is it the switch or does the element have a sensor in it to regulate the temperature
