How do I disassemble the door to install the handle?
For model number KHMS2040WBL1
Hello Rick, thank you for contacting us. To install the door handle, follow the following steps:
1. Remove the vent grill.
2. Using the screwdriver, take the top hinge screws out, slide out the top of the door from the hinge, and lift all the door assembly from the bottom hinge.
3. Using the putty knife, pry out the door trim by sliding it from the inside. There are quite a few clips holding it.
4. Pry the end tips out and insert the quarters in to prevent the tabs from closing back.
5. Make sure the rest of the tabs are not locked, and then pull the inner door out.
6. Using the torque 20 screwdriver, take two screws out and remove the old door handle.
7. Align the holes in a new door handle with the holes in the outer door and then secure the handle.
We hope this helps, good luck with the repair!

Only the handle is broken on KitchenAid microwave model khms2040wbl 2. Do i need anything besides the handle in order to repair it? Also, when i checked the price on this on 1/29/19, it was $74.00. Now $80.00. Quite a price increase!
For model number Door Handle-Black W10276431
Hello, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately if the manufacturer raises their cost we are required to raise ours as well. If the handle is the only thing damaged that is all you will need, You can reuse the screws from the other handle. We hope this helps.
