Be sure to inspect your new stove top before removing the old one. We removed the old top, which had been cracked. When we pulled out the new one, it had a dent and a scratch on the back,left side. We had to use it anyway because our old one was broken and we needed a stove. This is an expensive part, and you need to make sure they are in excellent condition before sending out to customers.
