The function of the oven sensor is to detect the temperature within the oven cavity. If you notice that the oven is too hot or too cold, or it is not heating evenly, you may need to replace the oven sensor. The oven sensor is typically located in the back of the oven so you will most likely need to pull your oven out to access it. Many of our customers have rated this repair as easy. Oven not heating quickly.
Removing the oven from the wall to rest on 2 chairs was pretty easy. After that, if I only had to replace the convection heating element at the back of the oven, it would have been a snap.
However, getting access to the main heating element on the bottom of the oven was really difficult. There were no instructions to follow,
... Read moreso one can only look at what is available for similar units online, but my attempts to remove the inner oven shroud on my 14yo wall oven could not be done without major bending.
So, I tried to get to the bottom heating element by removing the bottom of the oven, only to find there to be another layer and another layer, and then insulation that wrapped around the sides below that after taking off the sides.
By the time I finally got to the bottom heating element on my old oven, my patience was gone and I decided the jigsaw puzzle created by this vain effort was not worth putting back together. Better to opt for new technology.
While PartSelect is easy to work with, had I known this project was going to be super difficult, I would never have tried to take the old oven apart. Some engineer needs to be spanked over that design.
Lesson learned on replacing the lower heating element on a wall oven where the unit has to be completely disassembled, don't.
The money spent on freight, fees, and return postage will be chalked up to experience.

Oven not getting to temperature
Very simple. Remove one screw and carefully pull the sensor until you see the connection point. Remove the old one and snap the new one in and guide the wire back and reassemble the screw. Be sure to remove the oven door for easy access.

f2 and f3 codes oven would shut off
lift door off and remove racks take out old sensor. one word of advise when pulling old sensor out tie a string around connector coming out of oven if it slips out of yor hand it could fall through hole iif you dont have a string attached you pull the whole oven out of wall to acess it

Oven tempeture off by 50 degrees
Sensor is in rear and on top ov oven. What could be a 10" job took 45". My problem was the oven door was diffinately in the way. Also I wear bifocals which makes me tilt head to see nuts. I felt like a contortionist. HINT: remove door and give yourself some room to work.

oven not as hot as temp display said it was
pull out stove, unbolt old temp sensor inside stove with 1/4 nutdriver, go to back of stove and take off cover and unhook sensor and hook up new one, put all back together and slide stove back in place.

Erratic oven temp

Decided to first replace top oven sensor only, just in case it really was a more expensive control panel problem. It was a bit awkward to reach back there with the oven door in the way, but I have long arms! Aimed my flashlight, removed nuts with a socket wrench, pulled out the sensor, popped the clip and the old sensor easily separated from its connection. Snapped on the new sensor, pushed it back in and reset the nuts. Easy. Set the oven for 350 and tested again with 2 oven thermometers for 45 min. Voila! The oven thermometers read exactly 350 when the oven beeped "ready" and it stayed at 350 throughout the entire 45 min retest period with only a 3 degree variation both up and down. What a great improvement! Immediately went online to Parts Select and ordered another sensor for the bottom oven which was having the same problem. Fixed both ovens all for under $30 - and just in time for Christmas cookies! Don't want to know what the repair guy would have charged.......Merry Christmas!

the temp was not accurate
had to remove the oven from the wall. once i realized that i had to take the side wall brackets off before removing the oven it was quite easy. then just had to remove oven door and slide the unit onto a chair while replacing the sensor. put it all back in and the wife was so happy to have her oven back she made me a batch of brownies. yu

The 'o' on the model number may be because this is an appliance bought with the house. Model number for your purposes is probably jt912bf5bb. Food has been burning lately. I set the oven temp to 400. After is beeps it continues to heat for another 30 minutes or so up to 100 -150 degrees more. (using a store bought metal thermometer it beeps at 300 and then will continue to heat up to 450). Realize the store bought not that accurate but is does show oven not heating correctly. One person told me it could be the thermistor but don't find that in your parts list. Or the panel. Any suggestions

My oven is not heating properly. I checked power,elements and thermostat and all check out good . When i turn oven on bake the temperature doesn't increase pass 100 degrees on the display pad but the element is hot to the touch, just not red hot. When i turn the broiler on it doesn't get red hot either like it's supposed to. Although my thermostat is checking okay when i test it , all the symptoms from your web page indicate it's the thermostat . Could it still be this or is there something else i'm overlooking? Hi when i set preheat to say 350 degrees the preheat beeper will go off in about 5 8 minutes and state its at 350 but the oven thermometer i have in the center of the oven states it's 275, if i wait another 5 or so minutes the thermometer in the oven will reach 350 and hang steady at that temp, this holds True for any temp i select. Any ideas?Much appreciated.

Hello Jerry, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Oven Sensor. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

Hi, after a small power flickering interruption my oven will not heat up on bake or convection bake. It will work on broil hi/lo and roast convection. All the top elements in the stove top work fine. We also did a self cleaning and that worked fine. When i put it on bake it stays at 100 and i hear clicking on / off from the front control panel.

Thank you for your question. The problem is with the electronic control, it is shorting the control functions for the baking element and locking them up. You can try to reset the control board by pressing the Clear/Off button twice, if that does not work, you can reset the entire oven but unplugging it for 10 minutes and plugging it back in. If that still does not work, you would need to replace the control board under part PS1018000 for your model. Hope this helps!
Had error f9. Replaced door latch and motor. Still had f9. Ordered and replaced mother board. Don't get f9 anymore, but get loc, locked. What is my next step?

Ran a self-clean cycle and after it cooled, the oven door keeps locking. The unit makes a clicking noise when the oven is turned on and the unit will heat for 30-60 sec and then turn off. I have been able to unlock it by turning a self-clean cycle back on and then turning it right back off. Burners are operational.

Thank you for the question. Sounds like it could be the oven sensor. The sensor detects the temperature within the oven cavity. If it is defective it will lock the door thinking the oven is hot or in self clean.

Help..... my oven heats up sometimes but is very slow then when you finally get heat the temperature is 50 degrees less in the oven what the nob reads ... it’s always a toss up if i can use my oven.... help me ... my grandsons are expecting cookies as they carry in wood for our fireplace and that’s their payoff

Convection oven does not heat up. Per your recommendation, replaced the oven sensor part #wb23t10015. The convection oven stops at 118 degrees now. Since installing the oven sensor the bake cycle now heats up as required however the convection only goes to 118.Frustrated!!!!! could the problem be with the control panel/circuit board? hope not!!!
