The Grate Foot is a black rubber part which attaches underneath the grate in order to protect your stovetop from being scratched, which it does by cushioning the grate on your gas range. If this part appears visibly broken or no longer holds in place, which can happen to these feet over time, then it should be replaced. Check your model number and user manual to see if this part is right for you. Because this part is sold individually, make sure to order the quantity that you require. We generally recommend checking all of the grate feet on your appliance and replacing them at the same time, since it is an inexpensive part and they tend to wear out at around the same rate. Spares are good to have in the event of future failures. Before beginning this repair, ensure that the surface is cool to the touch. Simply pull the worn or cracked foot out and install the new grate foot. This process should not require any tools or accessories.

The control panel does not work at all. The burners can be lit with a match, but the igniter does not work also. I tried pressing the range lock out for 3 seconds, and also 9 0 for 3 seconds. I also tried unplugging the range for a while. I am sure i have power and gas. Thank you.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question. It is likely that you will have to replace your electronic control board if your control panel is not functioning at all. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The cooktop had a shorted out burner control.
Unpllug the cooktop and turn off the gas supply. Remove the grates and burners.(they just lift out). Using a torx screwdriver, remove all the torx screws below where the burners sit. There are three screws per burner, except the power burner which has only two screws. Genly lift the stainless steel cooktop, separating it from the rest of the enclosure. Hold the electrodes with one hand, while gently twisting and pulling the wire connector off. Now, remove the aluminum covered foam piece. You will now have acess to the wiring harness assembly. Disconnect the quick connectors and replace with the new assembly. Re-assemble in the reverse order and you're done. About 1.5 to 2 hours. Good Luck
A rubber grate foot on my range top had worn out. I pulled the worn foot out and installed the new grate foot with no tools or accessories. Good as new! Now I don't have to worry about the grate scraping my range top and scratching the paint. I also ordered extras so I won't have to wait if another wears out.
Upper left rack roller broke, had to replace rack adjuster assembly
First I had to take out the end caps on both sides of the upper rack - easy enough - you push in the direction of the arrows and they open up and come off. Then I took the rack off. Using the smallest allen wrench I could find in my ex-husband's set that he left behind (yay!), unscrewed the old rack assembly. The (blue) adjuster level doohickey popped out when the old assembly came off, but it was easy enough to fit that back in properly by looking at the right-hand one that was still in place. All I had to do was fit the new rack assembly into place, put back a few screws, and slide the rack back into place. Put the end caps back on and you're done. Maytag should offer free replacements for this part, IMO- the wheels are too flimsy to begin with, our dishwasher is only four years old, and the new part is pricey, at $29.45 a pop.
After my housecleaner had been here, I noted that 2 of the little rubber feet were missing from the top grates.
I was pretty upset as the grate wobbled, so I went on line and looked for GE Profile parts. To my amazement, I found the little rubber feet quite easily, and within 2 days they were here at my home. I simply had to stick them in the holes; however, I noted that they did not fit real tight, so I removed them and shot a little glue on them, and they have been in place ever since. Thanks to you guys, I am a happy camper now!!!

Just what I needed to repair cooktop grate
The rubber feet were exactly what I needed to replace one lost from my cooktop grate. Only reason it didn't get five stars is that the foot does not fit snugly enough into the hole to keep it in place (perhaps even manufacturing defect in grate itself?) Had to use heat-resistance silicone to glue it in. Part matched old GE feet exactly, though.

feedback on gratefoot
a grate-foot is a tiny round piece of rubber fits under grate so not to scratch. The "1" one I received:
1. grate-foot too small... fits way too loose in its recess [recess size checks ok]....its the only grate foot that constantly falls out... will NOT stay in place. 2. grate-foot overpriced! for the price charged you should give at LEAST "10" in a package.. not just one 1; and "one" that does not fit properly at that. If I could rate it less than one I would

Part was exact match to original
One of the grate foot pads had broken off and the grate was metal on stove top with possibility of chipping porcelain. The part Select site allowed me to quickly find the replacement part from the model number and they fit perfectly when I received them.

I received the parts very promptly. They are very easy to use. I just would like to know why they keep falling off, which is why I purchased so many. Is there a trick I’m missing!?
