The light that lights for dishes clean stays lit constantly. Because it won't shut off, the dishwasher will not start. Should this control board solve my problem?
For model number FDB1050RES5

Hi Anne, Thank you for the question. The Clean light will come on at end of cycle and remain on until door is opened. It sounds like an issue with the door switch. The door switch open and "break" the circuit when the door is opened or the Clean light will not turn off. You can try to disconnect power to the appliance to see if it resets the switch. If the issues continues, the Door Latch and Handle Assembly with Switches may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Can i get the main control knob and switch or is it all one part with the 4 buttons? To turn on the dishwasher, i have to turn the main round control knob that sets the wash cycle (quick, normal, heavy etc) several times. Then start it.

Washer clean light stays on, already changed the door latch switch still not working. Could be the control board?
For model number FDB1050REC0

Hi Matt, thank you for your question. It sounds like it. One thing that you can do is unplug your appliance for about 10 minutes. If you plug it back in and continue getting that error, then it is likely your control board that is the issue. Good luck with your repair.

Drain Motor would not run
I remove the 5 or 6 screws that hold the plastic decorative top front cover in place (the screws are on the inside of the door). Lifted and pulled the cover off of the door. Pushing in the two side clips, detached the control module power/control connector from the door. Removed two screws that hold the control module to the cover, then released the snapping clips that hold the control model in place. Reversed all the steps and ran a test cycle. It worked! Thanks PS!

Dishwasher wouldn't start, then became stuck in a cycle.
Pull the control knob straight out. Remove the screws along the top of the door, and the top two along the side near the top. The whole control panel will then fall away.
Unplug the old plug by squeezing the tabs and pulling.
Remove the two short screws that hold the control board to the plastic panel. After that, the board is still tightly held in place by a series of snaps around the perimeter. Most come free with a little work with a flathead screwdriver. The tough ones are underneath -- flip the whole plastic panel over to find an access for those.
Snap the new controller in place, install the two screws. Plug the wires back in (it is keyed and will only plug in the correct way). Put all the screws back in and you're ready to test.
The very first test I ran did not go well -- the dishwasher thought it was full of water when it wasn't. You may need to cancel the first cycle and start a fresh new cycle.

Control board light stayed on green but the washer wouldn’t activate .
I opened this dishwasher and removed the 8 Phillip head screws, which separate the front panel which gives access to the control board. I then removed the 2 screws that holds the Control board into place, and removed the control board from the snap on harness. Then reverse the process by snapping in the new control board and replacing all screws and reattaching the face place. Run the washer through a cycle to make sure the new board would complete a full cycle. I thought it would be hard to do. But it was a piece of cake. Was only out of pocket for the board(132.00). Saved $125 by doing it myself. DIY (1), servicemen (0).????
