This genuine replacement shutoff arm spring is for refrigerator ice makers. It applies tension to the ice maker shutoff arm to hold it in place so that the ice maker will stop making ice when the ice bucket is full. If your ice maker continues to make ice when your bucket is full, you may need to replace this shutoff arm spring. This part is less than 2 inches long, and is made entirely of metal. Be sure to disconnect the power or the water supply to your refrigerator before completing this repair.

The arm to the ice maker is stuck in the off position and the ice maker is not making ice. No water coming into ice maker.
For model number LGUS2642LPO
Hi Douglas,
Thank you for your question. If the arm is stuck in the off position and the ice maker is not making ice, this can prevent water from entering into the ice maker. The ice maker will send a signal to the water inlet valve so the valve will open when the ice maker has dumped the ice and it is ready to make more ice. The shut-off arm spring applies tension to the ice maker shutoff arm to hold it in place so that the ice maker will stop making ice when the ice bucket is full. The issue may be either the spring or it could be the ice maker itself. Remove the ice maker to see if the fill tube behind it is frozen as this can prevent water from entering the ice maker. To verify if the ice maker is working correctly, you will need to test it with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Shut off lever on ice maker won't stay up in off position
For model number EI32AF65JS1
Hello Joel, thank you for your question. We would recommend replacing the spring, as well as the ice arm lever Part #: PS1532728, or the entire icemaker assembly if you didn't want to disassemble the unit and repair it. I hope this helps.

Making too much ice! How do I reduce the volume it makes.
For model number FGHC2331PFAA
Hello Clive, thank you for reaching out. If your ice maker is making too much ice, the shut-off arm in the ice maker assembly might be damaged, and you will need to replace the entire ice maker assembly, part number PS1992700, to resolve the problem. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
My ice maker often stops making ice even when the shutoff arm is in on (down) position. If lift the arm up and then down, it will start producing ice again, until it stops working after a few days with the symptom. Will replacing the string fix the problem? i suspect there might be some loose contact that results in turn the ice maker off.
thanks.
For model number FRS26BH6CS1
Hello Yong, thank you for your question. The arm is probably not the problem, its probably the contact in the icemaker itself. We would recommend replacing the icemaker itself. I hope this helps!
