I do not know what it is called but the inside of the microwave, the silver board that covers the fan keeps falling off and is starting to rip a bit. It looks like the tiny plastic brackets are breaking. Can this be fixed with replacement parts?

Hi Cindy,
Thank you for your question. The part that covers the fan would be the stirrer cover. The part number for it would be PS2343146. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The fan cover (part 40) sparks sometimes. It looks like the finish is wearing away and that is where it may spark. Should I buy this new part or buy a new microwave? Thanks, P

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your question. The stirrer cover is important as it prevents food particles from getting into the area where the magnetron is when it is in use. If there is sparking when you you are using it, then it will need to be replaced. This part would be cheaper to replace then buying a new microwave. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My microwave sparked through the vent openings on the face of the unit. I read that you should clean the stirrer cover (part number 40 in the diagram) so I removed it, cleaned it and replaced it along with the stirrer assembly (part number 41) within it. Now it no longer heats up. The table turns, cooling fan runs, light works, but there no heat. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Dave,
Thanks for your question. There are several parts you will want to have examined, but be sure to have these parts checked and replaced only by a licensed technician as they can still carry electrical charges even after the microwave is unplugged.
You will want the diode examined, along with the magnetron, transformer, thermal fuse, thermal cutout, and lastly, the main control board. Replace any parts that are faulty.
I hope this helps.
Something exploded in my microwave and busted the waveguide. I replaced it but when i turned my microwave on sparks were everywhere. Attached to the waveguide is what appears to be a round metal piece that fits into the microwave. Does this sound like something that can be fixed or just buy a new one? Thanks!
