Is thermal switch wb27x11034 normally closed?

How can i test this thermostat? Do i have to test it at temperature to see continuity?

Thank you for your question. You would test this part with a multi meter. You would have to remove it from your appliance and test it at room temperature. This part should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My unit is getting power because when I open the door the light goes on. Yet, I get nothing on the panel. I have plugged and unplugged several times to no avail. Am I chasing the correct part for a dead panel?

Hi Constantine,
Thank you for your question. If the if the display is not working the part number for it is PS3493452. The issue could be the smart board as well and the part number for it is PS3491502. Another part to check would be the line fuse, part number PS239525. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter. would this keep blowing a fuse? when I ohm it out it will not go to infinity
so does that mean its bad or is it anomaly open

Hi Steve, thank you for your inquiry. When an ohmmeter points to the infinity symbol, it means that there is no continuity between the two test leads and that an open circuit is present. This thermostat, part number PS2339856, will have an open circuit. If/when the bottom of the microwave gets hot, the thermostat closes and supplies power to the vent fan motor to cool the interior and control components. The thermostat, part number PS2321365, on the left with the black/red black wires attached to it, is the hood TCO. It should have a closed circuit. If the bottom of the microwave or interior get's too hot, the thermostat will open and eliminate power to the control board and other components and the microwave will be inoperative,"dead" until the thermostat cools down and resets to a closed circuit. We hope this solves your problem!
