Our oven has stopped heating. When its turned on you can hear the relay clicking from time to time. I have replaced the heating prob and both elements. Still nothing. Can you help?

The oven will wihtout notice increase temperature to very high then have to turn down to extremely low to get @ 350 degrees. Same thing happening with burners. Will suddenly go high nad have to turn knob way down to get medium temperature. Never right away, happens after cooking or baking for a little while. Is there a control board or something that i can change?

Solution: The burner temperature control knob on the stove is defective and needs to be replaced. I was cooking on my Tappan stove and was also baking without any warning the stove burners (all) stopped heating and the oven also quit. We checked the breaker no luck getting it to work.I am hoping that you can give me some insight to my problem.

Hi Cathy,
Thank you for the question. There might be an issue within the wiring of the appliance. If there is no power going to the appliance I would check the terminal block first to see if there is any visible damage or burn marks. It could also be the outlet the stove is plugged into. There is no one part that would control all of the elements on the cooktop and the oven unless the stove is not getting power. If you have an multi meter you will be able to test for continuity in the power cord and the terminal block.
