I have the above model Frigidaire deep freezer and the temperature will fluctuate between -10 and 21 once I open the door, would the thermostat or the temperature controller card be malfunctioning?

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for the question. If the controller was malfunctioning the freezer would not be running so we can rule that out. The thermostat is built into the Main Electronic Control Board and it sounds like the board will need to be replaced. PartSelect Number PS3493024.

This is a Kenmore elite freezer. We had a power surge a couple of days ago and the freezer stopped running. The control panel on the door had a couple of indicators lit up and some thing in the display that made no sense, the interior light did not even go on when door was open. I played around with it and by unplugging and replugging the unit in i was able to get it to run again, i opened the door and it shut down. Reset it again by plugging and unplugging and got it running again let it come to temperature before opening and has been fine. Was cleaning it up yesterday and had the door open for a while and it shut down again not going into door ajar mode. When it shuts down the control panel freezes and the interior light goes off. What are your feelings on where the problem is. I need to have trust in this before i load it up again

Hello, i have a 2 year old frigidair stand up freezer in the garage. Yesterday it stopped working. The light comes on but no sound of the compressor or fan coming on when closing the door. It is completely hot. I unplugged it and plugged it overnight and plugged it back in and still no cold air. What can be the issue? As i said the light comes on so it is not a power issue. Possibly the compressor start relay? Thank you for your help. Mike

Hi Michael, Thank you for your question. It could be that part. Testing it with a multi meter should let you know for sure. There are a few other parts that you may want to take a look at as well. You should also take a look at your run capacitor, your defrost timer, defrost thermostat and heater, and you should also look at the temperature control switch if all of those other parts are testing fine. I have the above model Frigidaire it just started flashing off. The motor is not working, the light in the freezer comes on, there is no cooling of any sort. Please advise. Nixon

Hello Nixon, Thank you for the question. If by motor, you mean the Compressor in the bottom of the appliance is not running, we suggest testing the Compressor Start Relay and the Run Capacitor. These parts helps the compressor kick on and off while maintaining a constant temperature to keep things Cold and Frozen. We hope this helps!
The indicator light shower "0" - i pressed the up arrow and it showed "-18" so i pressed th up arrow again and it showed "of". I can't get the down arrow or up arrow to change from the "of" indacation. I unplugged from power (overnight) and same results. ???
