The plastic pin broke on the top of the mullion on our door. Can the replacement piece(s) be easily slipped back into place? I tried to remove the plastic piece with pliers, to no avail. Please instruct on how to remove the broken plastic piece. Thank you.
For model number GFSS6KKX
Hi Joe,
Thank you for your question. Yes, the French spring pin can be installed easily. Both the pin and the spring will just push into place. To remove the stuck pin, try inserting a self tapping screw in the pin just a few thread lengths. This may help loosen it enough for you to remove it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The door flap on the french door would not reset itself to go into the upper track it would just flop around freely and jam the door from being closed.
Just opened the french door took the new plactic sleeve placed it on the upper end of the spring and then inserted into the upper hole first then with a little pressure turned the bottom end of the spring and placed it into the lower hole.

The French swing part of the door would not go back where it needed to. I had to put it back in place with my hand.
I just replaced the broken spring and the little plastic cylinder that goes over the end of one part of the spring. I placed the plastic part on first and slid it in place, then had to bed the other end of the spring a little bit to place it in the hole. But once it went in, the door worked perfectly. And I'm a 70 yr old woman. So if I can do it, anyone can.
