This radiant stovetop element, or burner, is a genuine replacement part, and is 8 inches in diameter. The radiant element heats your cookware as you prepare food on the stovetop. To complete this repair, you will need a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the cooktop in place. Lift the cooktop up, and remove the screw and clip holding the old burner in place. Replace with the new element.

Easy fix!
The burner went out on our glass top stove. The replacement was slightly different in wiring. But the included instructions made it a no brainer. Highly recommend PartSelect.com.

Wrong part
Looked up the model number and used the parts diagram and part number that corresponded with it and ended up with the wrong part, 8" burner instead of the 12" burner that is on the stove.

Back burner was not working.
Took top of stove off, disconnected the heating element, re-installed the new element and now my stove works fine.

I believe I need to replace a burner element in my GE range but I can't figure out how to lift the top of the range to access it. Do you have repair instructions or a video I can view before I call a repair guy? Thank you!
For model number PD900DP2BB
Hi Doug, Thank you for the question. Before removing the cooktop, you will need to remove the control panel. The control panel contains the control board and burner switches. Remove the screws from bottom securing control panel to vent trim. Next remove the control panel insert by removing the 4 screws. Detach from main harness by unplugging the two connectors. Remove the 5 screws securing the control panel to the maintop assembly. The control panel can now be removed. The cooktop is fastened to the body with two screws. Once they are removed slide the cooktop assembly forward. Lift the cooktop up and off. Hope this helps!

Hi my one stove burner having problems. It turns on for some seconds and than shuts off automatically. Hot surface lights is on forever. So if i need to change the element how do i find a correct one?
For model number GE JCB840DKWW
Hello Jaspreet and thank you for writing.
We would need to know which burner it is. Left front, rear and so on, then we will be more than happy to find you the correct elements. Looking forward to your reply. We do carry related parts for units just like yours. For example, part number PS11772349. Good luck with your repair.
Is the outside edge to edge diameter exactly 8 inches or not?
Hello Simon, Thank you for the question. The Element its self is about 9" not including the connector where the wires attached. The 8" is more for the ring shape on the glass cooktop. We hope this helps!

The hot cook top light on my GE range won't shut off. What part do I need to correct this.
For model number JB630RF1SS
Hi Howard, Thank you for the question. If the the light will not turn off after the burner that was in use cools down, then you will need to test or replace the burner switch that controls the burner you were using at the time the light became "stuck" on. The switch controls the indicator light and the element. Hope this helps!

The left front burner doesn’t seem to regulate its heats output hardly at all... for a couple of months it would primarily heat hi regardless of the setting. recently, it is going in the opposite direction as it barely heats. is replacing the burner the solution or is there some sort of thermostat elsewhere?
For model number JSP42SS NFSS
Hello Bill, thank you for your question. The most likely issue is the burner switch that regulates the burner. We would recommend testing the switch first before replacing it. The switch sits behind the knob that controls that burner. Here is the testing information. https://www.partselect.com/Range-Stove-Oven+Infinite-Switch-Testing+repair.htm. If the switch is tested and is fine, the issue would be with your element itself. I hope this helps!

I replaced my left front burner a few months ago but the burner is not working again. What should i consider?
For model number JB850SP3SS
Hello Virginia and thanks for writing.
You might want to take a closer look if anything is loose or came undone , then it might be just some readjusting . Please be safe and unplug appliances.
Hope this help. Please contact us anytime.

The 8 inch burner pulses to red hot then back off at any temp setting including simmer, even when it is turned back off. Is this the burner or the switch?
For model number Jb640m p1bs
Hi Robert, thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could cause this issue specifically. You will need a multi meter to be able to test the parts. The first part you will want to check is your radiant element. It should be reading between 0 - 120 ohms to be working correctly. The other part to check would be your infinite (or surface burner) switch. When you remove that part from the appliance, connect each probe from your multi meter to the prongs and then turn the switch to an on position. If you get no continuity then the switch is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Our burner is a 7 inch please help
For model number JB640DR3WW
Hi Sharon, the manufacturer is showing PS2321566 as the correct part for model JB640DR3WW, you may just be measuring at different points of the element. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

How do I replace the element on the cook top stove
For model number JBS55DM3WW
Hi Katha, Thank you for the question. First unplug the unit or turn off the breaker. Next raise the top and take note of the terminal labeling before connecting the new part. Might be a good idea to snap a picture before you disconnect terminals. You can also remove one wire at a time and connect it to the terminal on the new part. The old element will be held in by a bracket with one screw. Once the bracket is removed the element should come right off the top. Replace the bracket with the new element. Hope this helps!

My main burner started having a flickering off to the side so we lifted the top and found both wires connected to the burner had burnt loose, almost off, the range is nearly 8 yrs old, thanks in advance for any help or advice you may have.
For model number JBS55M2BB
Hi Steve, sadly we could not find the wiring for this model. I recommend contacting the manufacturer and seeing if they could provide you with a part number, and then you are always welcome to check back to see if we carry the part. Hope this helps!
