Flat Style Oven Igniter Kit Specifications

The flat style oven igniter kit comes with a mounting bracket and a wire connector with a plug. The igniter kit is used to light the oven burner. If you notice that your oven will not heat up properly, the igniter kit may need to be replaced. This flat style gas oven igniter has a body length of 3-3/4 inches. When completing this repair, the connector plug might need to be removed and spliced to the range wiring using porcelain wire nuts. Before you begin this repair, be sure to disconnect the power source from the oven, and shut off the gas supply.

Oven not holding "Set Temperature"
I followed the "Test Procedures" on your site { VOM to test the Temperature Sensor and observed the intensity of the Igniter } and found both items were not at specs. Although your video did not depict my model oven exactly, it showed me enough details on how to get to and change out the parts. IE: The connector plug for the Flat Style Oven Igniter had to be accessed through the Warning Draw and not the Oven as shown in the video. A minor issue.
I found your test and safety procedures, how to video's and ease of ordering the required parts fantastic. Most importantly the parts arrived in one day and a half. A very satisfying experience, Thank you

Burner was bad and gas pressure valve stuck open.
Shut off gas, bled excess and simply removed old defective parts and replaced with new exact replacement parts. Made final air adjustments after first checking for gas leaks. No problems at all. A good rainy day job!

GAS OVEN WOULDN'T LIGHT
With the model number I wnet on Parts select site and located the part through the problem finder selection,(GREATFEATURE!) (74% the problem is the Flat Style Oven Igniter) (watched the video on installation and compared my unit with the one in the video). The video explained installation completely and made it very simple. The only critic is that the oven door can be removed completely to make it easier to get in the the oven, opening part way and lifting up the oven door will come completely off. Also the broiler pan drawer can be taken completely out if you would need to get in this way for some reason. Final note: I called the local GE dealer Parts dept- they would have had to order the part anyway and it would have cost three times what Parts Select charged me.Save $$$ great! .

Gas Broiler Igniter didn't work. Broiler would not come on
Pulled the gas stove out so that I could shut off the gas valve and unplug the power cord. Job was made easier by removing the oven door (which just slides out). I took the 2 screws out that held the old igniter in place. Went to the rear of the range where there was a small 3"X2" electrical cover for the igniter, and disconnected the wire leads from the wiring harness. I then pulled the old igniter out through the oven front. Fed the new igniter wires through the back of the range and plugged the new igniter in. Reinstalled the electrical cover in the back of the range, attached the 2 -1/4" screws to reinstall the igniter inside the broiler. Put back the oven door. Turned the gas valve back on and sprayed on a soapy solution to check for gas leaks. Plugged the electrical cord back in. Pushed range back in place, Turned broiler on. Wait for a few seconds till the gas comes back thru the line. Works great Our stove was a GE Profile Gas Range. The part number for the igniter is WB13K21. We are very satisfied. Jim

Oven would smell like natural gas odor , burner slow to come on
Replaced the flat style oven igniter. First, I watched the video on your web site, and used it as a reference to make the repair. I did remove the oven door tho, as it made it easier to complete the work, the video didn't show the door being removed. The video was very helpful.

The igniter would glow but the gas would not come on.
I followed the video instructions on the site. I unplugged the power supply and turned off the gas supply. I then removed the plate out of the bottom of the oven to get to the igniter. Then I removed the screws and unplugged the igniter to remove the old part. I had to purchase two porcelain wire nuts because the new part connection did not match up with the old connection. The repairs were quite simple and I had my oven back and working in no time. I am glad I read the comments from others because I thought it was my gas control valve, but they were right it was my igniter. This saved me time and money.

If the oven is not coming on but broiler does is this the igniter? You can hear it trying to make contact!
For model number JGP75AEY1AA
PartSelect logo
Hi Joan, Thank you for your question. It sounds like it may just be your igniter that is the issue. You should be able to test that part with a multi meter to see if it is working correctly or not. It should read somewhere between 50 - 1100 ohms of resistance. Good luck with your repair.

Hello Travis, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: flat style oven igniter kit, safety valve, burner tube, spark module, oven thermostat and pressure regulator. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

Hello George, thank you for your question. We would recommend replacing the igniter. Usually when this happens it means the igniter is taking too long to light. I hope this helps.

My oven works fine but the broiler igniter will not glow. Does the broiler and oven have the same igniter? What part number would work for the broiler igniter?
For model number JGB281DER1BB
PartSelect logo
Hello Terry, Thanks for your question. The flat style oven igniter is used for heating your oven, but there are two other igniters commonly associated with the broiling element. Thankfully, all of these can be tested relatively easily. If they glow for 90 seconds without generating heat, they are faulty and should be replaced. I hope this helps.

Ordered and changed igniter wb13k21 as per recommended solution of low heat in oven still low heat,400 at 550,300 at 400.Cycles on and off but at a lower bake temp.Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
For model number JGB605det2ww

Hi Hank, Thank you for the question. I recommend replacing the Temperature Sensor, PartSelect Number PS2374070.The sensor maintains the temperature inside the oven to the set degrees, when defective the oven might not obtain the correct temperature you set or will over heat. Hope this helps!

My oven lights all the time but we get a gas smell first. I had GE here on a service call, but it worked perfectly. Lit every time and no gas smell. He said it could be the igniter. What are the other possibilities
For model number pgb930set3ss
PartSelect logo
Hi Anthony, thank you for your question. The igniter might be the issue where it is not igniting right away and so you smell gas before it actually ignites. The only other part that I could think of being the issue might be the safety valve or regulator. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

What should the omhs be reading for that part number
For model number Ps231270
PartSelect logo
Hi Scott, Thank you for your question. This part should read anywhere between 0 and 1100 ohms of resistance. If the meter does not move then your igniter will have to be replaced. Good luck with your repair.

Hello Reginald, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: burner with igniter, pressure regulator, dual oven safety control valve, probe/sensor, and oven control board. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

The oven does not heat at all. There is no clicking sound.
For model number JGBS23WEL1WW
PartSelect logo
Hi El, Thank you for your question. There could be a few parts that are causing that issue. I would suggest testing your igniter first. You could also test your temperature sensor as well. You can test both of those parts with a multi meter to make sure that they are working correctly. If both of those parts are fine you may want to also check your spark module. If that part is also working, it may be your control board that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
