Easy to install after checking robertshaw.com conversion diagram.
Excellent buying experience from partselect. The new infinite switch had slightly different letters corresponding to the plugs because the new switch is an upgraded version. The photo shown on partselect.com is the old version. After reading the Robert Shaw conversion diagram on robertshaw.com, I was able to connect the wires properly. You could just guess, but I like to be sure when working with electricity. This was such an enjoyable and useful project for me that I posted a Youtube video on how I did the job. Look for " Jenn Air cooktop goes full hot." Partselect could enclose the Robert Shaw conversion chart with the new switch to simplify the installation process for novice diy folks.

The switch needed to be replaced
I TURNED OFF THE POWER TO THE GRILL FIRST. Then Removed the knob on the top face plate and then removed the 2 self tapping screws at the high end and this allowed the face plate to be pushed forward. And allowed access to remove the switch I removed the wires one at a time and replaced them on the new switch. All done in 20 minutes.

Burner shorted out and runied the switch
Replaced the switch and put the new surface element in and it works great.
Rear burner always high, ignored temperature setting.
Turned off breaker for range. Removed 4 phillips screws on control panel, tipped it forward and rested it on top of partially open oven door. Removed knob and nut on old switch. Moved wires, one at a time from old to new switch. Put new switch in place, tightened nut and pushed on knob. Put control panel back in place and installed 4

The stem of one of my burner switches broke off so I had to replace the switch.
Replacing the switch was very easy. First I unplugged the range to be sure there would be no electrical power to the switch. Then I removed four screws to remove the switch cover plate (located above the oven door). I disconnected the wires from the pin connectors on the broken switch, then removed the switch by removing one hex nut.

Does this switch fix my problem which is when i turn on my rear left coil goes straight to high heat no low
Hello Leo, Thank you for the question. If the element turns on but goes right to high, the switch that controls the element will need to be replaced. If you can provide the model number of the appliance, we will be happy to verify the parts number for you. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Our electric panel is outside, and one of our California deluges soaked in the breakers for our Jenn-Air cooktop. My husband dried the area and breakers, reinserted it, but our cooktop's heating elements are not receiving power. The fan works, the lights work. Is there a breaker on the underneath of our cooktop? Or do I need these "infinite" switch replacements? Would that be all of the switches on the top, or is that a control under the cooktop. We are not handy by any stretch of the imagination, so if these are dumb questions, sorry. Ours is 47 inch wide, ca 1987, electric, 4 burners, grill and frywell. I cannot find parts for the frywell either. Model number C301 and serial number 346818RR.
For model number C301
Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for your question. If the elements on top of the stove are not lighting, you will need to check the check the electric burners, the switches and the terminal wiring with a multimeter to see which part is causing the issue. To test the terminal wires, Visually inspect the terminal block for any signs of damage, cracking, or burning. Using a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, touch the probes to the terminals. If your receptacle has multiple sets of terminals, test each set individually. If there is continuity, your multimeter will produce a reading of zero. If you receive any reading other than zero, you will need a replacement receptacle. To test the switches, place your multimeter on Rx1 mode, test for continuity by touching the L1 and H1 terminals with the probes. Once you have completed that test, touch the probes to the L2 & H2 terminals. If your test results indicate that there is no continuity between one or both sets of terminals, you need a replacement infinite switch. To test for a shorted element, touch each of the terminals one at a time with one probe while holding the other probe to the outside surface of the element. If either terminal show continuity, it is defective. To test the entire element for continuity, place each of the probes on the terminals, one on each. The exact reading you should receive varies between models, refer to your owner’s manual to determine what yours should be, but if any element has a reading outside of 19 to 115 ohms, it is defective. If you do not receive the correct readings from the tests above or find damage on your element, you will need a replacement surface burner element. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Tried to replace Infinite burner control switch on 40 year old Jenn Air cooktop. Old part has these numbers: INF-240P-871 201241 240VAC
Part number on the package of the new switch: 700855K.
Old one has different markings for the wires than the new one, and the new one has a place for a wire that is labeled with a blue dot. The old one does not have this. I labeled the wires with the labels from old switch, and put them on the new switch with the same labels. Must have done something wrong, because when we turned the breaker back on, the knob made a popping sound. We immediately turned breaker back off, assuming the switch is ruined? If we order a new one, how can we install it correctly? Also, the shaft was not aligned "squarey" with the switch. In order for my knob to work, the flat side of the D needs to be parallel to the front (top) of the switch. Instead, it's slanted.
For model number C300
Hi Jerry, thank you for reaching out. We have found the instructions to install the infinite switch, part number PS2076107. These may not be of the same model but will help you in installation. You may need to follow these steps:
1. Shut off the circuit breaker.
2. Remove the vent grill and locate the screws that hold the control panel and then remove them.
3. Pop the knob off and pull it straight off.
4. Take off the nut with the wrench.
5. Lift the control panel straight up, you have to slide it forward a little, and then pick it up.
6. Under the control panel, you'll see the infinite switches.
7. Took the one out that is labeled P l1 l2 top a ch2 h2 and h1.
8. Once you get all the wires, fastened them back onto the new infinite switch.
9. Secure the nut at the top with the wrench.
10. Tight it and make sure that the orientation for your knob is correct.
11. Push it in and make sure that it pops up to the off position.
12. Follow the steps backward to complete the installation.
We hope this information helps!
