Our water dispenser has black and clear debris coming out with some black specks in ice also. Changing water filter does not help. Is part of water dispenser decomposing and is that debris we are seeing? Would it help to replace the water line? Thank you1

Hi Beth, thank you for your inquiry. Usually, if the filter is newly installed or just recently changed, black particles may be noticed in the water. These black particles are fine carbon particles left over from the manufacturing process. We would suggest flushing the system. It is recommended that two to three gallons be flushed through filters for approximately five minutes. If this does not solve the problem, cleaning the dispenser and the water line assembly, part number PS2068715, might help. Over time, mold may build up in the water supply line to the dispenser, or at the dispenser base, causing the water and ice to be unclean. We hope this information helps!
