Also known as a bellow. This part is used to keep the clothes inside the tub during the wash cycle. The folds in the bellow allow the tub to move separately from the door during the spin cycle.

Need to replace the boot for the door and wondering how difficult this is to do?
For model number MAH8700AWM
Hi Don, Thank you for the question. Most customers are able to do the repair on their own.
You will need to start by removing the screws on the back of the appliance that hold the top panel in place. Then the panel should lift right off. Next open the detergent drawer, at the back there will be a release pin, push down remove the drawer. You will see a screw to hold the panel in place. There will be a locking tab on the bottom of the panel, use a flat head screw driver to push it up and unlock the bottom of the panel. There will also be locking tabs on the sides of the panel that can be accessed through the top of the appliance. Then move the panel up out of the way.
Next remove the 3 screws holding the door switch in place. Next remove the tension spring holding the boot to the front panel. You can use the flat head screw driver to pull up on the spring and then simply pull it off. Next pull the boot from the panel.
You will see two lower and two upper screws holding the front panel onto the cabinet. Remove the screws and lift the front panel off. Remove the clamp holding the boot to the drum. Loosen the screw on the clamp and this will allow you to work the boot from the drum and pull it off.
To reinstall the new boot you will need to slip the clamp over the top and then reinsert the plastic nozzle, then stretch the boot over the lip of the drum and reinstall the clamp tightening the screw. Reinstall the front panel, control panel and drawer.
Pull the boot back a bit so you can gain access to the switch assembly. Push the catch back through the hole and reattach the screws.
Next push the new boot onto the lip of the front panel using the channel in the new boot seal. Reinstall the spring around the outer edge of the boot seal. Now you can reinstall the top of the appliance and you should be set to use the washer!
Hope this helps!

Can you tell me what other parts are needed to replace the door boot seal?
For model number WFW9151YW00
Hello Naomi, thank you for your question. The only other parts you might need would be the Bellow To Tub Clamp Part Number: PS11746259 and the Bellow To Front Panel Clamp Part Number: PS11773093. These would only have to be replaced if they are stretched or broken. The door boot seal for your specific model is part number WPW10381562, as well. I hope this helps!
