Question:

How does one remove the agitator?

Lenore for model number HAV2357AWW
Answer:

Hi Lenore, Thank you for your inquiry. I have found a repair story that a customer provided on how they installed the agitator that you may reference. The customer advised, "Removed laundry softener dispenser, removed bolt with socket wrench and long extension, pulled off old assembly piece, installed new assembly and replaced bolt. It took longer to order the part than to replace it!" If you do not find this helpful I have found a video on our website listed under part number PS11741866 that maybe helpful. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Agitator kept coming off during spin cycle

After using my existing parts for about 6 months, and constantly having to tighten the bolt, I though that the parts might be stripped. It took one minute to unscrew the bolt that holds the two parts of the agitator together with a socket and 10" extension. After taking those parts off, it took another minute to put the pieces back and screw the new bolt back in place. Extremely easy - and much less expensive then having a repairman come out to fix it.

Agitator was loose and wouldn't stay in place

First I removed the bolt and removed the old agitator and post assembly then I put the new agitator and post assembly in place and tightened the bolt. It was so easy, when I called the manufacturer they wanted to send out a technician, but thanks to Parts Select I fixed the problem without spending alot of money and without the hassle.

Agitator auger failure

The parts list and schematic made it easy to select the correct part that my wife and I believed was the problem. The plastic part was removed easily because it kept on popping off during the wash cycle of anything other than light low loads. The mechanism was useless. With the new piece/part inserted the machine got back to business as it should be. Plastic just wears out to quick. At least we have delayed a machine replacement.

Water wouldn't shutoff. Agitator would pop up and stop agitating

Opened up washer, found vacuum hose was broken and replaced it. Removed agitator with a couple extensions and a socket wrench. Found agitator part was worn out and replaced it. The best part was how great PartSelect made it so incredibly simple and easy to find the right part. I'm now a customer for life. Kudos PartSelect.
