Hello Jim, thank you for your question. If the belt is tight and the pulley is moving after you give the belt a push and does not seem like its seizing up, the motor should be replaced. The switch/capacitor sounds bad on that motor. Good luck with your repair!

Hi Matthew, thank you for your question. A burning smell coming from the washing machine during or after the spin cycle indicates the possible stuck drain pump in which its pump motor would not turn. With that, it may generate a burning smell. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix the issue: belt kit, part number PS2005284, glide and spring kit, part number PS2017149, tub bearing kit, part number PS2347235, and drain pump, part number PS11743017.
