Issue fixed by cleaning off old grease in assembly, re-greasing the slider and bending the lever slightly.
There were some slight variations in the new part. Possibly due to upgrades by the manufacturer. While waiting for the new part to arrive, I cleaned the old part of it’s dried grease, re-lubricated it with Lubriplate and bent the metal lever slightly to increase tension on the plunger and micro switch. That fixed it so now I have a spare if the old part should fail again. Shipping can be rather slow.

Washer quit working after partially filling with water
I found the mostly likely parts to fix my problem on the website... that washer would not start, stating the lid switch assembly fixed the problem 66% of the time. I used an ohmmeter to test the switch and could not find any continuity. Replacing the switch took less than 5 minutes. Easy.

machine went off balance violently, causing lid switch tom fail
diagnosed problem by reading parts select symptom chaser. ordered part and received it in two days. It was a snap to install, simply reversed removal. had machine up and running in 30 minutes.

Lid Switch Stop working at second rinse cycle.
I followed the direction came with the part.

• I unplugged power electric wire from the wall.
• Unscrewed total of five screws from the back of the top console.
• Removed the top console to gain access the switch.
• I took pictures of the switch position for a future reference.
• Unplugged the switch wire by just pulling the plug.
• Carefully removed the switch and pulled the plunger out plunger assembly.
• Entered a new plunger in first and inserted a new switched carefully.
• Opened and close the lid few times to check the switch is going on an off properly. You will hear clicking sounds.
• Plugged the switch wire to the new switch.
• Reinstalled the console and screwed back the five screws.
• Plugged back the electric plug in wall outlet.
• Tested the washer by washing a full load of clothes.

The whole process took me about 30 minutes.

washer dead after unbalanced load
Unplugged washer, turned off water supply,Removed the screws in back of console. removed. back plate, unplugged lid switch from console. removed screws holding console to frame of machine. Removed lid by prying the bottom corners out freeing the hinge ball on either side. unscrewed the lid switch from the frame of machine. installed the new plunger screwed into place aligned with lid switch snapped new switch in place, plugged in to console. put screws back into console and put back plate back on turn water supply on plugged in washer started washer which is now working . and the repair guy who never showed up wanted to charge me 50. diagnostic fee when I told him itwas the switch. it cost me less than 50 for all the parts. if you can read you can do

removed control pannel, traced current flow to lid switch,in but not through, shorted power in to motor lead machine started, ordered switch, received switch, installed new switch, washed clothes.

Washer started/then stopped and wouldn't start again
Took the back plate off, popped the old lid switch out and the new one in. Very easy. No problems, saved $100 buck at least doing it myself.

slammed lid and broke lid switch
it took a little longer to fix the lid switch becasue the you have to figure out how to install the switch after you takethe old one out. The old one popped out but the new one needs some twisting and pressure. It also is an ackward position to work in on the back of the washer front the front. I think the instructions could have been much better by warning the installer to pay attention when you take the old one out. But it worked and we fixed the problem for $22 and four days of waiting for the part.

Removed 5 screws to remove console rear panel. Removed the old switch and plunger and installed the new ones. Worked good last long time.

the device that indicates the lid is open/closed malfunctioned due to a forceful slam
After removing defective part and replacing it with the new part, no thanks to skimpy instructions that came with it. We discovered that it wasn't the lid switch assembly but, the hinges and washers? and the little plastic piece that pushes the plunger so we had to order those. Surprised they didnt' come today. The first order came almost the next day.

Switch not correctly mounted by the previous technician.
Switch material hardened due to old age & broke easily when force fitted. Ordered parts online & in two business day it arrived.

First open the lid & removed the side latch with screw driver carefully. Checked the length of the new plunger with the old one with respect to length & compare the stroke. Slide fit the switch & rectified the play in the plunger pusher with super glue.
