This motor kit comes with a thermally protected motor, a washer and a mounting bracket. The motor performs eighteen revolutions per minute, carries 115 volts, and drives the auger for the icemaker.

Ice Maker would not dispense ice
Had to cut the old part off with dremel then just install new part and put back in refrigerator. It is a good thing to know that the Yoke is a left threaded. Thanks James from Pineville.

all 8/32 and holes should have been tapped
had to saw off the shaft to get the yoke off and tap the holes for the 8/32 screws. all holes should have been tapped by the factory. Other than these problems, everything else went pretty good.

Ice bucket auger yoke was stripped out and turned freely
Removed the ice bucket from the freezer. Removed the single screw on the left side with a nut driver, then lift and pull the tray toward you...there is a wiring harness in back of the tray that I had to unplug...easy, pinch the sides of the plastic connector and it disconnects..and the tray came out of the refrigerator...and the cussing s
... Read moretarted. Since the threaded yoke was stripped it could not be unscrewed from the motor shaft...I took my trusty Dremel Tool and cut the shaft off so the yoke could be separated from the motor shaft and the motor could be removed from the plastic housing. From here on it was a piece of cake...install the new motor and screw the new yoke onto the motor shaft... I think it has a left handed thread, like the old propane bottles used to have..slide the tray back in, reconnect the wiring harness (it only plugs in one way), make sure the tray is sitting on the 4 side supports, put the single screw on the left side and you are done....put the ice bucket back in and flip the bail down and you should be back on business....!!

Auger drive motor pulled away from enclosure and water was leaking into the ice bucket

Several days back I found I couldn't get any ice from the ice maker. I was able to hear noise from the ice maker but no ice would dispense. I opened the freezer and removed the ice bucket to find out that the Auger has broken off from it's plastic housing in the back of the freezer. I went to partselect.com to find the part(s) that wer
... Read moree broken, it was much easier because of the diagram/images they have for each individual section of the fridge. Parts came quickly and as expected.
The replacement of the auger motor is very easy if you follow these steps:
1 - Remove the ice bucket from the freezer 2 - Unscrew the one screw on the bottom left side of the ice bucket tray (the tray holds the ice bucket in place). I used a small needle nose plier to remove this screw as I was having a hard time with my drill or wrench set. After you've removed the one small screw, lift the tray up and slowly pull towards you. 4 - You'll quickly see that the auger motor and magnetically controlled yoke are connected with a wire harness to the back of the freezer. 5 - Gently crimp the ends of the wiring harness connector with your hand and slowly pry away from the freezer. Once you've removed the wiring harness you can remove the entire tray with the parts attached (yoke/auger) 6 - Unscrew the auger motor from the tray. You'll also have to remove the auger from the motor else it won't come out. In my case the whole plastic attachment was broken so I didn't have to do this (ie I replaced the ice tray as well). It was impossible for me to remove the auger from the auger motor, not sure why the auger was so tightly attached to the motor - it could be the reason the auger motor broke from the ice tray?, so I had to buy a brand new auger motor and auger (ie Auger Drive Motor Kit). I hope you have more luck then I did removing the auger. If you can't remove it you'll need to buy the Drive Motor Kit (which comes with the drive motor, detached auger and auger washer). 7 - Once/if you've removed the auger from the motor and remove the motor from the ice tray, you can proceed with the replacement of motor. 8 - Using needle nose pliers remove the three power connections on the motor (white/neutral?, pink/power?, green/ground, note where the connections were when you removed them because you'll replace them in the same place on the new motor). 9 - Attach new motor to ice tray with the four screws, attach the auger and auger washer to the auger motor, attach the power connections back (white, pink, green). 10 - Re-connect the wire harness to the back of the freezer 11 - Move ice tray back into place, and attach the one screw back to the ice tray to hold it in place. 12 - Replace the ice bucket back onto the ice tray 13 - Done, you should now get ice!
Good luck, I hope this helps. It's easy and you don't have to pay three times this price to replace these ice bucket parts.
The Shaft of the Auger Drive Motor Became Stripped
I removed the one nut screw holding the Ice bucket shelf then removed the Ice Auger Container. Then I lifed the Part containing the Drive Motor. I removed the electrical connection which just plugs into the fridge. Once the Drive motor and container was out of the fridge I removed 4 screws and the Drive motor was out. I disconnected 3
... Read moreelectrical connectors and connected them to the new drive motor. Then replaced the motor and connected the 4 screws. I then installed the yolk on the drive shaft and then put the drive motor container back in the fridge and reconnected the electrical. Installed the nut screw and I was done.

When i dispense ice cubes the unit groans and growls like it is really being stressed. I feel it may break before too long. I read about auger issues and feel it is probably related. I'm hoping there is a simpler and less expensive solution than a new auger drive motor kit. Thanks in advance, dick
For model number MZD2752GRQ
Hi Dick,

I hope you can share wiring diagram for the ice bucket auger drive motor, as I have removed wires and not positive how to put back on. The auger drive motor is part select #ps2003313, manufacturer part #12001773. There are three wires and one without plastic cover is likely the "ground". Not sure which terminal the other two should go to. (potential problem would be reverse direction of auger motor?)
For model number Jenn-Air JCD2389GTB
Hi David, the wiring diagram is under the JCD2389GTB listing on the wiring information page. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

The plate to which the auger motor is attached is broken. The motor had come loose totally off its mounting location. Not sure how that happened. The motor still turns a bit noisy. I can see that the motor is available but i don't see any part number for plate or assembly to which the auger is screwed on.
For model number MSD2454GRW
Hi Enrico, sadly the requested part is discontinued, however you can contact the manufacturer to see if they have a suggested replacement. If they can provide you with a part number feel free to contact us back to see if we have the part in stock. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Hello and thank you for writing.
Regretfully no, you would have to replace the ice maker itself PS2121513.
We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Trying to get the yoke off the old motor, because I'm just replacing the plastic support/housing part, and I want to keep the old motor. But that yoke is on the motor shaft very tight! Any suggestions? Thanks
Hello Bill, Thank you for the question. You may need to use a food grade Lube or Grease on the Yoke to remove if it is stuck. We hope this helps!
