Better than the original !
The part arrived on time and well packaged for shipment. I had it installed in ten minutes and the first batch of ice dropped about 70 minutes later. Supplementing the hopper with trays from another freezer is no longer necessary as the production from the new icemaker is more than adequate for our needs.

My icemaker is making a knocking sound every few seconds. It also isn’t making ice and we aren’t sure what’s wrong or how to fix it. When i took out the ice tray i could see a lever moving where the sounds coming from. I’ve shut off the ice maker and the sound stops after a bit but when i turn it back on it starts back again randomly

Hi Scott,
Thank you for your question. There could be a couple of things that may be happening. I would suggest checking your fill tube to your ice maker and making sure that it is not clogged with ice. It sounds like what is happening is that your ice maker is trying to make ice, so the motor is turning to expel ice that just is not there. Sometimes your fill tube can get clogged with ice. The other thing could be your water inlet valve itself. Your valve has two solenoids on it. One for the ice and one for the water. It could be that your ice solenoid has stopped working. So your ice maker calls up water but never gets it. I would suggest checking those two things first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Ice maker parts no.123. If I get the replacement part, how do I remove the old one?
For model number pfss6pkwASS
Hi James Lee,
Thank you for the question. After you remove the ice bucket you need to unscrew the left side bucket slide. Under the slide you will be able to see the ice maker wire harness. Unplug the harness and then push a small tab on the left bottom side to release the ice maker then pull the old ice maker out.
Hope this helps!

My ice maker has pieces of white plastic showing up in the ice, something grinding. Ice maker doesn't shut off when it is full of ice. Replace ice maker?
For model number GFSS6KKYASS
Hi Brent, Thank you for the question. Most cases the plastic pieces are coming from something broken in the Ice Bucket and Auger Assembly, PartSelect Number PS2371091. I suggest removing it from the appliance and taking a look to see if there is something broken.Hope this helps!

The plastic arm inside the ice maker that tells it if the bin is full has broken. Can i order that part individually or do i have to order the whole ice maker assembly?

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately it looks like that bail arm is only available with this ice maker assembly. I hope this helps!

Ice maker fills up but wont dump ice into tray you can here it trying, ice is stuck in tray seems like.
For model number PFSS6PKXASS
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your inquiry. I would suggest taking a look at your ice maker, it could be that the heater at the bottom that is supposed to loosen up the ice once it is ready is malfunctioning. I would also suggest testing your solenoid as well. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.
Trying to remove the existing ice maker with no luck. Took off the side panel and unplugged it tried to release the top front tab but the ice maker won't budge. What am i missing. Does it need to thaw out completely?

Hi Gary, Thank you for the question. There is one screw at the front corner, under the icemaker that will need to be removed. Hope this helps!

My fridge is making a noise that sounds like a pressure cleaning machine. When I open the freezer door on the bottom the noise stops. Can this be the icemaker?
For model number PFSS6PKW
Hello Edwin,
Thanks for your question. Given that the noise stops when you open the freezer door, we would suspect the issue is the evaporator fan motor, part number PS2338132. The water inlet valve and the icemaker should also be tested to ensure they are not clogged or jammed.
I hope this helps.
Periodically, at the base of of the ice bucket assembly with auger, it is caked with ice, as such, the ice bucket can not be removed. What cause the ice to caked at this location and what part do i need to replace to cure this issue.
For model number PFSF6PKXABB
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your inquiry. From reviewing some information on this issue for you. The ice maybe building up because the dispenser door is being kept open. You will need to check the parts in this area to see what is causing the issue. Please let us know if you need further assistance. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I installed the new ice maker kit, but it's not making ice. I also don't hear any sound from the ice maker as far as drawing water. It's been a few hours now and no ice. Help!
For model number PFSS6PKWBSS
Hello John, thank you for writing. Was the reason you replaced the ice maker because it was not making ice? If so, you may also want to consider replacing either the Water Valve part PS2338130 for your model. It is also possible that the installation was done incorrectly. We do not have installation instructions for this particular Ice Maker Assembly, however we do have a YouTube channel with repair videos that may be of assistance to you. Here is a link to a list of videos that may be similar: https://www.youtube.com/user/partselect/search?query=ice+maker. We hope this helps.
