This kit includes the ice maker, power cord, bail arm, and fill cup. If your ice maker is not making or dispensing ice, or you notice a leak, you may need to replace the rear-mount ice maker assembly. This ice maker mounts to the back panel in the freezer section of the side-by-side refrigerator. If you are having an issue with the arm of this kit hitting the shelf, you will have to replace the shelf. You can find the shelf by searching PS1152582. To complete this repair, you will need a 1/4-inch nut driver and a small flat blade screwdriver.

Unit Would No Longer Eject Ice Cubes
Holding down the power button for 15 seconds would no longer advance the ice maker, so apparently the motor had burned out. I removed the two screws at the back of the unit and unplugged it. Plugged the new one in, replaced the two screws and turned the power on. Simple as that! Started producing ice a short time later.

My ice maker does not stop making ice and won’t shut off. Would replacing the whole ice maker assembly solve this problem or is there an easier fix? Thank you
For model number PLHS69EESSN
Hello Zach, thank you for your question. If the ice maker continues to make ice non stop the best thing to do is replace the whole ice maker assembly, part number 5303918344. The old ice maker can be unplugged, the screws that hold it into place removed and the unit taken out of the freezer. The new ice maker is mounted into place and plugged in. Its a very easy repair, and takes little time. It can take 24 hours for the new ice maker to start making ice, so be patient if it doesn't make ice right away! I hope this helps!

Water is dripping and puddling on the floor on the left bottom of the freezer side door. Upon inspection i found a sheet of ice formed under the bottom drawer on the freezer side. It appears to then leak out the bottom onto the floor. Where is this water coming from and freezing under the bottom drawer, and what are the possible repairs?
For model number FPHS2699KF0
Hi Albert,
Thank you for your question. There could be a number of things that are leaking in your appliance. I would suggest taking a look at your ice maker first, just make sure there are no breaks or the part is not over filling with water and causing the leak. You may also want to look at the fill tube/cup that pours the water into the ice maker mold. Another thing that you could check is your defrost thermostat and heater. It might be that your freezer section is defrosting a bit too much and the water is just pooling at the bottom there. You may also want to check the drain in your freezer, make sure that it is not iced over and blocking the water from draining out of the freezer during the defrost cycle. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

After being away for 10 days with the refrigerator being on, but the water supply being shut off to the refrigerator for that time, the ice maker does not work. However, the drinking water supply from the refrigerator is now resumed with sufficient and normal pressure. Should we replace the ice maker unit or do something else first?
For model number PLHS39EESS2
Hi Khosrow,
Thank you for your question. If the refrigerator has been off for a period of time and it has just recently been turned on, It can take 24 hours before the ice maker starts working again. If it has been longer than 24 hours since the refrigerator has been turned on, you will need to check the water inlet valve, the water filter and the ice maker. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My ice maker is not dispensing the ice. The part that that auger attaches to in the rear of my freezer is making noise, but it is not spinning. Do I need to replace the rear mount ice maker assembly?
For model number PLHS68EESB1
Hi Ben, Thank you for the question. If the icemaker is making ice but not dispensing then the icemaker is good. If the auger is not Turing the issue is within the ice container. Soudns like an issue with the Auger Motor, Part Number: PS1993164. Hope this helps!

The ice maker is not making ice .
For model number LGHC2342LF0
Hi Bill,
Thank you for your question. There are two parts that you will need to look at. I would suggest first checking your water in let valve. Even if the water dispenser is working, the ice maker solenoid could be malfunctioning on the valve. Test it with a multi meter to check. The other part that you should check would be your ice maker itself. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

2 issues. Our fridge makes ice but does not dispense it when we push the trigger in. Motor doesn't turn and ice does not dispense. A separate issue is the water line within the fridge door freezes. We unplug the fridge for two days so that the ice in line melts. Two days later it is frozen again.
For model number EI23CS55GS1
Hello Paul and thanks for writing.
1 st issue. Sounds like your auger motor is defective and your ice maker needs to be replaced. Doing so might fix your other issue of the line freezing.
2nd issue: A refrigerator ice maker that freezes up can be caused by a frozen ice maker fill tube, faulty water inlet valve, too low freezer temperature setting, or a water filter that needs replacing. First, locate the water supply to your ice maker and turn off the water supply via the shut off valve.
We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime. Good Luck with your repair.

Hi Khosrow,
Thank you for your question. If you have had the refrigerator off for a period of time and you have just plugged it back in, you will need to allow 24 hours for the ice maker to start making ice again. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Many problems....Unit does not make ice. Temp readout all over the place so I replaced the thermostat on the freezer dept. Pulled panel off and was covered with ice. Thought thermostat solved problem, but fridge runs all the time, temp readout varies. Freezer too warm for ice cream. Strangley, control does not light up unless freezer door is opened, but when you depress switch on fridge door, unit goes off. Thinking I need new control module????
For model number ffss26d8rs0
Hello Pete, thank you for your question. If your freezer is not maintaining a temperature between 0 and 5-degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -15C) it will not make ice. There are a few things that could cause your refrigerator to run all the time and cause temperature issues. To test your defrost thermostat, place it in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Part number: PS469522. Check your defrost heater, part number: PS2581596. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. Check your evaporator fan motor. Make sure it is not clogged with ice and that the shaft turns freely. You can also test with a multimeter. Touch one of the tester leads to one terminal and the other lead to the other terminal. If you get a very high or infinite resistance reading (which is denoted by OL on a digital meter), there's a break somewhere, meaning the coil is bad and the fan needs to be replaced. Part number PS12729077. Check your freezer door gasket to make sure it is sealing properly. Part number PS1991325. If all these parts are good, we would suggest replacing the condenser fan. Part number PS12728810. We hope this helps!
The icemaker is no longer producing ice, the manual over ride does not work. Filled itself fine with water and froze ok and nothing functioned since. Turned off, tried 20 seconds on over ride, nothing. Have already replaced the inlet valve, is the ice maker shot? Correct icemaker part # is 5303918344?
For model number FGHS2355PF2
Hello Tami, thank you for your question. Yes, that issue would be with the icemaker. The icemaker for that unit is PartSelect Number PS12364147. I hope this helps.
