VALVE ACCESS Specifications

This water access valve, also known as a water inlet valve, is an authentic OEM replacement part used in dishwashers. The valve controls the flow of water into the dishwasher. It is responsible for allowing water from the household water supply to enter the dishwasher tub during the wash cycle. The valve is controlled by the electronic control board, which signals it to open or close based on the selected cycle and water level requirements. Once the dishwasher is filled to the appropriate level, the water inlet valve closes to prevent any further water from entering the tub. If the valve is faulty, you will likely experience water leakages, difficulties filling dishwasher, and poor cleaning results. This part is commonly associated with the E15 error code on dishwashers.

E15 Error Code
Turned off power and water supply. Pulled dishwasher out. Disconnected the water inlet from the back left side. Swapped out the inlet valve. Wiped up the water in the bottom pan. Put dishwasher back and turned on water and power. Simple.

Bosch Dishwasher repeatedly reporting error E17 after a few minutes of running
Fairly easy repair, with the hardest part getting the appliance out of the cabinet. Kill the power and get the dishwasher out. Once out, the water inlet assembly (a large, white, opaque plastic box) is on the left side of the dishwasher, exposed and surrounded by the sound insulation. Pull back the insulation and use pliers to disconnect the small, white water inlet tube (hard to remove, you may need to pry a bit with a flathead screwdriver). Once that's off, look on the back left of the dishwasher for the valve access, which is mounted on a plastic snap-in tab. It was easiest to snap this out by reaching into the dishwasher from the side and squeezing the tab on the assembly with my fingers. Once it's out, remove the electrical connection from the old valve access by squeezing the tab. Unscrew the incoming water hose (from water service), and squeeze the clamp to remove the smaller white hose. Then go in reverse to reassemble: connect the white hose to the valve access and clamp. Connect the water service (make sure the threads take and it's solidly hand-tightened). Connect the small electrical plug. Snap the panel back into the back of the dishwasher. Connect the small white hose back to the water inlet assembly on the left side of the dishwasher and clamp. Test if you can, then put insulation and appliance back in. This totally eliminated my E17 errors.

Inlet valve was leaking water at all times causing the unit to shut down with the bottom tray collecting water.
Repair was simple once the problem was diagnosed with the inlet valve.
Most of the work was in disconnecting the necessary lines so the dishwasher could be removed from the cabinets to replace the bad valve. Replacing the valve was easy. Reinstalling the dishwasher was just the reverse of the removal. The replacement part matched the original and solved the problem we had.

E15 code basin filling up with water
Turned off electric
Slid out unit - the water connection on this model is in the back
Disconnected the H2O hose. This valve access part is the part that connects the dishwasher to the H2O supply. The soon to be replaced part had sediment in it preventing H2O to go into the dishwasher and into the basin instead. The exploded view of dishwasher was a big help. It was a guess as to why this was happening. Now that I’ve had it apart it makes sense that this is the part that would fail after a period of time, especially if you have city H2O. My husband Bob did this repair.

E:15 error code with Watertap
The E:15 error code means water is detected in the pan under the unit. There are several ways this can happen.

In this case, it was caused by a bad inlet valve. It did not close properly and led to an overflow of water inside that eventually spilled into the pan underneath the unit.

I see now why the pump keeps running after this error. In this case, it would have led to a big flood in the kitchen if it did not.

I was actually able to run the unit while broke by manually operating the valve under our sink that provides water to the unit.

Be sure to turn off breaker before servicing. Don't get shocked!

Be sure to turn off water before starting! Or, you'll have a flood.

Anyway, I just pulled the unit out (was secured by 2 screws on the sides). I lifted up the insulation material on the left side to get at the valve. Pushed a little green tab to release the electrical plug. Then, use pliers to move clamp off the white water hose on the inside. Then, pull of white hose. This was hard in my case. Took a lot of force. Then, reach behind the unit and use pliers to unscrew water hose. Now, the whole gray panel there can pop out with some force. Then, slip the old valve out and slip new one in. Reconnect hoses and clamp. Note that I put some caulk on the connector where white hose goes. Not sure if needed or not.

Good luck!

Would not fill nor drain.
Replaced the valve access. Attempt to complete cycle failed. The pump-drain was replaced relatively easily. The second attempt was successful and we’re back to normal. The parts came quickly considering the holiday rush. We are very pleased. Thank you so much.

I get a watertap fault about a minute after turning on the dishwasher
For model number SHX68T55UC/07
PartSelect logo
Hello Jim, thank you for your inquiry. This should be fairly easy to reset. Just press and hold the start button for 5 seconds to reset the dishwasher. Then turn the power off for 15 seconds and turn the power back on. If you are unable to reset it, turn off the dishwasher's breaker for 5 minutes to allow the capacitors to bleed. After that, you should be good to go again. If it does not help, the first thing you want to do is pull it out and make sure the water line is not kinked, the water supply valve is on, the pump filter is clean, and the pump runs. If the inlet hose has a detachable filter, also clean it. If all is well and still an error is showing, you need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS16746057. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!

E17 code starts to work, then stops and empties machine. I have replaced water inlet valve. Is it possible to get a wiring diagram
For model number SHP65T55UC
PartSelect logo
Hello Terry, Thank you for reaching out. The E17 indicates there is an issue with the water level being too high. We suggest checking the Float for wear, damage or a blockage preventing it from closing properly. For a the wiring diagram we suggest contacting Bosch. We hope this helps!

e:19 error. Drained power from board overnight. repower and goes to error right away. Board is clean and dry. no water in bottom of washer

Hello Jeffrey, thank you for contacting us. First, reboot your device, letting it rest for 15 minutes. If you still see the code after plugging in and switching your device back on, you should check both the pump and the heat exchanger in order to determine the cause of the error and try to fix it. The pump has to be checked with a multimeter and replaced if needed. To get to it, you have to first disconnect the drain filter, which is placed inside the tank of your machine. Then turn your device upside-down and take off the bottom panel. Detach the pump, part number PS11704799, and carefully inspect it. As for the heater, remove the left panel to get to it. Check it for visible signs of damage and examine the drain valve. It can be easily detached by turning it clockwise and pulling it out. If you see that the components are faulty, replace them with new ones. If you do not have a recirculating valve, replace the main control board. It is made for multiple models, so if it is getting an error for a valve that does not exist on your dishwasher, the main board, part number PS12729567, is failing and needs to be replaced. We hope this information helps!
