Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
For the second time the handle clips broke on the freezer. This time it also broke part of the mating bracket in the handle. Poor design. Last time I could get away with just the clips on the freezer door.
The handle was already broken. Wish I would have checked the mating clip surface of the handle. But, after getting all set up saw this problem, and ordered a handle. Taking off and installing is simple. Tap the freezer handle end to the left using a soft mallet on the right end. I suspect a hammer would work, but without protecting the handle could bend it or at least scratch the paint. I suppose a folded rag and a hammer may work. Anyway, once off, replacing the clips on the door is a Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew and replace the door clips. Then, carefully tapped the handle from the left end to slide the mating piece in the handle back on and tap tightly. There were many YouTubes on the thing since it seems to me to be a very poor design. But maybe we are too hard on the handle???

Freezer door handle broke off
As a lot of people have reported, the freezer door handle is attached to the freezer door with cheap plastic mounts. Since it takes some force to open a freezer, these eventually break. Unfortunately, you cannot buy the plastic mount pieces separately - you need to buy the whole handle. Even worse, for some models (like my GNE25JSKFFSS), they only list the threee handle set - which is hundreds of dollars - just to fix a small plastic part. Luckily I found this item, which is the exact freezer door handle w/plastic mounts that I need. It isn't listed for my model refrigerator for some reason, but it is the same part.
I also bought an extra set of the fastener handle assemblies - the part that screws into the freezer door to hold the mounts, because I broke one off when removing the old broken mount.
Once you have the parts, its easy.
If you need to replace the fasteners attached to the door, just unscrew the one screw on each and remove the fastener.
Put the new fasteners on - insert the small nub in the small hole in freezer door and insert the screw through the large hole and screw it in.

Once you have 2 fasteners on the door, line up the holes on the handle mounts over the fasteners - it does not seem to matter which direction is up for the handle. You should be able to push the handle in so that the fasteners go in the holes on the back of the mounts, and the mounts are flush with the door - move the handle around until it is flush. Then slide it to the right with a little bit of force to get the clips on the fasteners to engage. The handle should now be securely attached.

lower pull out drawer handle fastener to freezer was broken on one side.
I ordered the plastic fastener, that held the handle to the freezer door.
after I received the part I used a screw driver to attach the fastener to the door. Then I placed the handle onto the fastener and bumped the handle with my hand to the left. this attached the handle to the door.

my freezer door handle is loose how do i tighten
For model number gne25jskffss
PartSelect logo
Hi Gregory, thank you for contacting us. You may need to gently tap a rubber mallet on the right end cap of the handle towards the left until you see the handle disengage from the fasteners. Tighten the fasteners with the help of a screwdriver. Now, to install the freezer handle, brace the refrigerator on the right side and hold it in place. Align the slots inside the handle end cap to the mounting fasteners and slide it to the right until it comes to a hard stop. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the left side of the handle until the handle no longer moves. We hope this solves your problem!

I am looking a kit possibly that contains the freezer door handle and the clips that fasten to the door itself that the handle connects to. I can find the handle but not the clips.
For model number GNE25JGKLFWW

Hi Kevin, thank you for a very interesting question. According to our research, the fastener handle assembly and the white freezer door handle do not come into an assembly. You may need to purchase them separately. The part number for the fastener handle assembly is PS16619453. Glad to be of assistance!
