Easy repair
Part arrived promptly. Installed and had a full bin of ice by the next am. After filling up and shutting off the pump failed to start when the ice level dropped. Tapped on it with a screwdriver handle and it ran until the bin filled again. I still have to tap to start !

Water not refilling after initial batch of ice
The water filled on startup (actually over-filled, which was a clue). After that water was used to make ice, no new water came in so the recirculation pump just made whining noises in the mostly empty reservoir. Since water could come in (on start up) I reasoned it wasn't the water inlet valve, and everything else suggested the ice maker
... Read more was getting inaccurate info about how much water was in the reservoir. Turns out, the water recirculation pump has a water level sensor built in. So while the pump itself still functioned, the water level sensor inside had gone bad. Replacing the pump fixed the issue. There are videos online that show how to accomplish that, but it was pretty straight-forward. The dis-assembly was sometimes irritating because it's hard to see and maneuver around inside. It'll help if you put the machine closer to eye level. Pay close attention to videos that show the disassembly because there are a couple of tabs that are hard to find.

Is this the pump that pumps water on to the chill plate?
If not what part does it?
Everything seems to be working other then water is not making it to the chill plate.
For model number WUI95X15HZ00
Hello Audrey, thank you for your question. We have researched your model and found that the issue is probably with the circulation pump, part number PS16555297. It circulates the water over the evaporator plate to form a slab of ice. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
Hi. The machine is making ice (though smaller and cloudy), but the water will drain out (or be pulled out) of the pan periodically resulting in very little water getting pulled up onto the chill plate. Would this be a pump issue? It sounds like the pump is struggling. Water is getting to the reservoir, just doesn't seem to stay there long enough to make the clear ice and correct thickness.
For model number kuix505ess1
Hello John, thank you for contacting us. The issue is most probably related to a faulty circulation pump, part number PS16555297. It circulates the water over the evaporator plate to form a slab of ice. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!
This unit has 2 pumps but the breakdown only shows one pump for the water circulation
