The fan blade clamp, also known as a clamp spring, are for air conditioners. The clamp supports the fan blade on the motor shaft. When the motor is running, it signals the shaft to turn and rotate, but without the support of the clamp the motor shaft is unable to function properly. Remember to unplug your air conditioner from the power source as a safety precaution and wear work gloves while you perfrom this repair.
