This part is the replacement high-voltage diode for your microwave. It is approximately 3 inches long and is sold individually. The high voltage diode is an electrical current control device inside your microwave. Be sure to disconnect power to the microwave, and use extreme caution when completing this repair, as microwaves can still retain an electrical charge even when unplugged. This part is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

A Repair as Easy as Advertised.
My diode replacement was as easy as advertised. I probably could have replaced the piece in less than 10 minutes but I was extra cautious with each of the installation steps. Unfortunately it did not resolve my heating problem but the installation was very simple.

Diode was bad (No Heat) - Other parts also determined to be bad after replacmenet
Part was as expected. Easy to replace. Initial problem of no heat remained, but now microwave emits loud "MMMMMM" sound, so either the capacitor and/or magnetron is also bad. Diode was indeed bad and replacement changed problem sound.

Terrible troubleshooting guide. Diode not the issue.
Guidance was wrong. Part didn’t solve the problem.

No heat.
Microwave with no heat. Removed casing and checked low voltage side from the fuse through all the microswitches to the primary side of the transformer, all good. Checked HV diode good. Checked secondary side of transformer, good. Checked capacitor, good. Even though the Magnatron electrically checked out good, it had a cracked magnet. Rep

No heat. No unusual noise. Appers to function other than no heat
Multimeter checked/confirmed switches, sensors, and fuse first. All good. High power diode was bad - Replaced. Still no heat but now loud "MMMMM" noise when running. This means either the capacitor is also bad and/or magnetron.

MICROWAVE WAS NOT HEATING THE FOOD
So my microwave was turning on and operating but nothing would get hot or even Luke warm. After watching several online videos on the problem I replaced the line fuse, diode, and the magnetron. I figured why waste time and just do all 3 while I have the thing apart. I discharged the capacitor with a light bulb first before doing anything.
... Read more Also had to pop the safety pins on the outside screws to take the metal housing off the microwave. Then Wallah! Everything is working and the food or liquid is hotter than it ever was. The only think that bothers me a little bit is that after the microwave shuts off, I can hear a few crackles or faint pops for about 5 seconds. I wonder if this is anything to worry about. Comments appreciated.
Googled problem, removed diode, checked with meter and it was open, ordered new diode, checked new diode and it read open, installed. Any way, it didn't work. Went and bought new microwave!!

Microwave not heating.
Followed the instructions on your website and a YouTube video. The diode was at a 90 degree angle which made it a little trickier. Unfortunately the repair did not resolve the problem. I ended up buying a new microwave for temporary use for less than ordering any more parts. We are pleased with your website, instructions, ease of inst

Microwave made loud buzz noise and did not heat
I followed the generic trouble shooting directions on the web site. It suggested either diode, capacitor and/or magnetron. I test each. All tested OK except diode. It was supposed to measure open in one direction and appox 200k ohms in the other direction. My diode measured open in both directions (tried multiple times, multiple sett

It was easy to install but unfortunately no joy - did not solve the problem. At this point it is likely cheaper just to buy a new one

For model number GE jvm3162rj1ss
Hello David, thank you for contacting us. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the fuse, part number PS11773885, to check whether the fuse rating is compatible with your model or not. We also recommend checking the diode cable, part number PS16219547, transformer, part number PS11766872, and magnetron, part number PS1481236. We hope this solves your issue!
