Over a few days duration the ice maker stopped producing cubes , after a basic examination of the unit I found a web site that provided parts and instruction on self repair .
so basically if you can make toast , you can do this repair....loosen 2 hex head screws ,lift up on the ice maker and separate from wall of freezer , unplug the wire harness ,it is now OUT , swap the water level indicator to new part [30 second job ] Install the new part in reverse order as mentioned above... enjoy your ice

IceMaker would not make Ice
Hardest part of this very easy and simple repair was finding my 1/4 inch nut driver, then I was finished in 5 minutes and now the ice maker is functioning.

ice would not spill into bucket
The repair was very easy. I loosened the two screws holding the icemaker onto the side of the freezer, then unplugged the icemaker. Reversed the order, and it was done. You have to shut the water off first.

Ice maker stopped making ice
The ice tray would fill up, but never spit the ice out. I pulled one screw out of the bottom of the ice maker and loosened the two on top. I dropped the unit, unpluged the power and reversed the previous steps to install the new ice maker. Completley easy.

The icemaker would dispense ice
The longest and hardest part or replacing the icemaker was finding my nut driver. Once I found it, it was 3 nuts to remove and the plug to un-snap. The 4-pin plug was the same as the original so no big deal. Be careful because there was a hot part on the icemaker and I burned my finger when taking it out.

Did not make ice
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Then I took the new icemaker out of the box and reversed the procedure.

The icemaker is making ice now.

Hello, I have a Frigidaire ice maker that will not stop making ice unless I manually pull up the arm. Is it the ice maker assembly?
PartSelect logo
Hi Eddie, Thank you for your question. f your ice maker doesn’t turn off (it keeps making ice) even when the ice bin is full: 1 Lift the bail wire to shut off the ice maker, and remove the ice bin. Using a screwdriver if necessary, remove the ice maker, clean it thoroughly, and then reinstall it. 2 If the problem persists, consider replacing the ice maker and valve. You can do this yourself, as discussed below, or have an appliance repair person do it. With this type of problem, you can have it repaired, but it’s often wiser, easier, and less expensive to replace the unit entirely. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My ice maker is not making ice. Do I need the replacement ice maker PS735469 or ice maker assembly part PS1533004?
For model number FRS26RLECSN
PartSelect logo
Hi Victoria, Thank you for your question. If your ice maker is not making ice, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the water fill tubes, the water inlet valve, the water filter and the ice maker. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts. If you need to replace the ice maker, part number PS1533004 is used on newer models where the cord will plug directly in to the back of the freezer. It includes the cover, fill cup, bail arm and a four-pin plug harness. Part number PS735469 replaces the heat-release ice maker unit only. The kit comes with four round female connectors at the end of the wire harness. It also comes with the adaptor that converts the harness to three round female, and one round male connectors. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
