How does the ice dispenser drum prevent the ice maker from making ice ?
For model number Ffhs2622mwla

Hello Scott, Thank you for the question. If the drum is broken it will not allow ice to dispense and the ice maker will see the bin is still full and not make more ice. Hope this helps!

How do i know if it is the blade or the drum?
For model number FGUS2642LE1

Hello Sharon, thank you for the question. The ice dispenser drum, part number PS1526412, is a drum, it does not contain ice-crushing blades. Ice passes from the drum toward the crushing blades. These are ice-crushing blades, part numbers PS12728805, PS12731381, PS12731382, PS12728804, and PS12728806. We hope this information is useful!

I only get dispense crushed ice even when pressing the cube or the crushed button. Is this problem in this part?
For model number flsc238dsn - frigidaire

Hello Larry, Thank you for your inquiry. This is the part that catches the ice and sends it to the crusher assembly. Check this part for any visible damage or for any obstructions. Run hot water through the ice bucket to remove any jammed ice from the blades. It could also be an issue with the auger motor or the dispenser solenoid. The plunger on the solenoid is what allows the ice dispenser to switch from cubed to crushed ice and if it is sticking, then the ice bucket will remain in crushed ice mode. Good luck with your repair.

The drum ice maker broke in half so it couldn't dependent the ice.
I had removed the housing that the drum was in and taken the screws out to get to the broken drum. I removed it there was a set of 6 blades that crushed the ice that had to go back on the same order when I removed these I put them on a piece of wire in the order they came off (so I would get them back I the correct order). Then I reversed the order and reassembled it in the opposite direction . It was fairly easy to do. I'm a 68 year old disabled woman so if I could do it I'm sure you could to. Good luck. It cost me $14.00 if I had bought the whole assembly it would have been $150.00. So it was well worth my time and effort.

Icemaker not pushing out ice
Consult the exploded view of the Ice Container on this site. A likely cause the end plate (17) is worn. This plate connects the rotating corkscrew to the final plastic worm that pushes the ice into the crusher and thence to your waiting glass. The worm alone will not do the trick. To replace this plate, you need to take out all of the screws you can see, including the one that holds the spring for the crusher select bar.. First, the front cover, then the plate, and finally, locking ring from the worm and the black housing for the crusher. Now you can remove the whole worm assembly. Using a cloth or rubber insulator to protect it, unscrew the end screw and slide off the crusher teeth. Store on the table as a unit to facilitate re-assembly. Slide off the old bar and worm, put them back, and re-assemble. Takes a little dexterity to get the crusher select bar back, but not hard. Easy job.

Repair went well, but web experience had problems
The part(s) arrived in new condition as expected, but they were clear instead of white (as in both the picture and the original); the color really wasn't an issue, so I continued with the replacement. I used the installation video provided, and it was very helpful. My only problem was when I placed the order, the website became unresponsive; I waited for quite a long time, and then clicked the button to submit the order again. I discovered later when I got two confirmation emails that two of the parts were being shipped. It was too late to change the order, so I decided to keep the other part. I imagine I'll be replacing the ice dispenser drum again in 3-5 years.
One thing that I did differently was that I got a split shaft collar and drilled a hole in it and the drive bar, then fastened them together with a screw. The drive bar was slipping on the shaft, but doing it this way should prevent issues in the future.
