Product Description
Lower Spray Arm with Shield Specifications
Located on the lower half of the dishwasher, the lower spray arm rotates and sprays water to clean the dishes in the washer. It does this when water is pushed through the spray arm by the units pump and motor assembly. The force of the water helps rotate the spray arms. If your dishwasher has symptoms, such as unclean dishes, odd noises, lower spray arm not rotating, or water leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher door, then this replacement could be a solution. No tools are required for this simple repair, but make sure to wear gloves for protection during repair.

My door would not close, so I could not turn on the dishwasher.
It was simple, I do have extended warranty from AHS, but they charge me a trip charge of $55 per repair, and then all parts and labor is covered. But when I checked with Parts Select the parts costed me about $10, so I decided to do it myself.
While I was at it, I also bought other parts and updated my dishwasher with some upgrades.
Good place to buy any parts from, they are very helpful, if you do not know your parts. They even had drawings of my dishwasher, and this actually helped me find what kind of other parts I could buy to upgrade my dishwasher.
Parts select is on my favorites list and pass it on to all my friends.

Spray arm melted onto the heater
First, I had to remove a small metal paper clip that somehow ended up in the bottom of the dishwasher, which jammed the spray arm. The spray arm wasn't able to spin around, so it melted onto the heater. I removed the spray arm, and replaced it with the new one.

Lower spray arm heat shield melted
Electrolux part number PS1524955, lower spray arm.
Problem. Dishwasher was spraying water out the bottom of the door. The spray arm was damaged when the heat shield overheated, causing the shield to contact the heating element. This resulted in the spray arm melting, causing water to be sprayed out the small gap between the dishwasher door, and the dishwasher bottom pan.
Repair
Lower spray arm is easy to remove. Release the arm clips at the center of the spray arm. When the clips are released, lift and remove damaged arm. Replacement arm is attached by pressing down on the center of the spray arm. The new unit has smaller heat shields so it will be less prone to overheating.
Thanks for the fast shipping. Part was recieved in a few days. For just a few dollars, the handwashing is over.

Bottom spray arm got stuck and melted
First I removed the bottom dish rack to gain access to the spray arm. I proceeded by pulling straight up on the bottom spray arm, it disconnected with gentle force. The replacement part was not identical, so I determined that it would work by inspecting hole patterns and heat shield configuration. Then I gently pushed the new spray arm onto the water supply tube making sure that the spray arm snapped into place. Due to extremely fast ground shipping (less than 20hrs from order to my door) the repair was done within 24 hrs! Boy...was my wife pleased!

My dishwasher was leaking
This was too easy. I pulled out the bottom rack, spread apart the two clips which are at the bottom of the spray arm with my fingers and pulled out the old broken spray arm. The damage was visible. Then I took the new spray arm ( which looked different but still fit nicely) and gently pushed it into place. Done!

I melted my other spray arm when I was cleaning the dishwasher strainer!
Although the part I ordered was not an exact match, it was a Frigidaire piece and fit onto the spray arm assembley the same way. And if I do say so, it actually seems to clean the dishes better! All I did was clip the new one into place.

Water Leaking from Bottom of Door
Replacing the part was easy. Just pop the old one out and pop the new one in. This item fixed my leaking door problem. The old arm had fallen against the heating element, which burned a hole through the end. Water was shooting out that hole and leaking under the bottom door seal. Replacing the door seal did not help, but replacing the arm fixed the leak.
