Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
It was a bit difficult because we ordered the wrong parts twice.
Handyman installed the finally correct switch. It was not the starter button.
This company was wonderful. Replaced each part without charge and rushed the replacements to us. Can' say enough good things to thank them for their courtesy.

The start push button and the timer knob were broken because of low quality parts.
These buttons are easy to fix. Just line them up with the D shaped shaft and push the buttons to get them to go on.

What holds the start button on the back of the panel sometimes does not respond to pushing. If I play with it it sometimes starts. I think its the clip that holds the push button that is not working. What should I buy? Thanks.

Hello Mary, Thank you for the question. This could be an issue with the Start Button, PartSelect Number PS3487190 or the mount on the back of the Backsplash, PartSelect Number PS3487096. I suggest opening up the panel to check for any damaged parts. Hope this helps!

Dryer stopped working. Repair person replaced the belt and starter/timer knob. After replacing he had trouble starting dryer. Keep moving starter around and it finally started. Today attempting to dry clothes that I set as “Cottons more dry”. Dryer has stopped with knob pointed to optimum dry but clothes still wet. This happened 2x. Still trying to dry clothes. Will not dry or start on permanent press. Off doesn’t work.

Hi Shamas, thank you for reaching out. Confirm the door is fully closed; the dryer will not start with the door open. Remove anything that is obstructing the door. If there is no obstruction, we would recommend checking the door switch, part number PS2344321. Thank you for the inquiry, good luck with the repair!

Dryer was working fine. Tried to turn it on next day. Pressed start button and all it does is hum. Drum turns but not to easy. Any ideas?
For model number GHDP490EFWW

Hi Morris, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. If all of those parts are fine, I would suggest checking your start switch and then perhaps your timer itself. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
