This OEM Timer Knob is a white plastic knob which can be easily installed onto your machine's timer rod, in order to control the timer. If the part breaks off, it should be replaced. Refer to your user manual and model number to see if this part is right for you. It is a three-inch-diameter part that accepts a D-shaped shaft. To replace your faulty knob, simply pull the existing knob straight off the shaft and install the replacement back onto the shaft. No tools are required. Hi there, my timer knob on my dryer keeps breaking/cracking/snapping off and Im not sure if it’s a poorly made part or if im not installing it right or if theres something else wrong with my machine. In the past two years I replaced it 2X and this will be a third time. What do you think……?
Hi Jackie, by the sounds of things your timer knob is sticking and you should replace it and the timer together. This part WE1M654 is the knob and this part WE4M533 is the timer you require for your model. Best of luck with this repair!

The knob for the timer cracked so the timer won't work. I replaced the knob three times already because it keeps on cracking. We used pliers to turn the stick that holds the knob and now the stick broke too but still can be grasped by the plier. What needs to be replaced at this time and which parts do we need. Is it easy to replace the parts?Thank you.

I did a search on your site to find out why dryer wouldn't start. It said 25 % of the time it could be the timer knob. Checked my old one sure enough it was cracked.Took old timer knob off and pushed New one back on less than a minute. Thank you for your site. It saved me from costly repairs.

Timer knob was cracked on the inside.
I just pulled off the old knob and put on the new one. Took 10 seconds. I did not need the D-Shaped knob insert clip after all.so glad i found this website.
The timer knob was stripped, so it was stuck in the off position. Ordered the "D"-shaped knob and just placed it on the connector and everything is working find.

dryer would not run. The knob was cracked and the little piece inside was broke. Had to use pliers to run 2 loads.
My husband took top off back and went in that way and it was simple to fix. Thank youi
Removed the 4 screws holding the panel in place. Then removed the 3 screws holding the control asm in place. Removed 1 connector at a time installing the connector into the new assembly. Secured the controls asm with 3 screws. Then put the panel back on with 4 screws.
From behind the dryer remove the panel directly behind the timer assembly (6 phillips head screws). Take a picture at this point of how the wires are attached to the timer assembly for reference during reassembly Then remove wires with pliers. Remove T10 Torx screw that retains the timer assembly in place. Remove timer Knob (pull forward). Rotate timer assembly to pop it out. From here, twist in new timer, use T10 torx to hold in place re-attach wires and reinstall rear panel

Easy Repair just short lived
I have purchased this part before and it works well for a while but is not constructed to be durable (plastic that should be metal in the housing) and so this is my second purchase.
