To test the current ice make (model can29) which by the way mounts to the left side wall by screws, do i turn it off, then on and depress the ice quantity detection blade 3 times?If so, it didn't activate the ice removal tines. there is no water coming into the fill line. i have replaced the water inlet valve and a new filter. i don't think the water line to the ice maker is frozen. but i used a hair dryer directly over it anyway. i am getting water from the dispenser. i have opened the freezer door, depressed the side switch and been able to dispense water. so it's not the freezer door switch. the ice door works also when i manually place ice in the bin.

Thank you for your question. If there is no water coming from the water line after replacing both the valve and the filter, the water line itself needs to be replaced, your being under part PS292253. Hope this helps!

Water line freezes up - only let very little water thru but when water comes out it sprays hold and doesnt go into ice department - so i get water dripping down and freezes.

The ice maker in our GE profile fridge (about 9 10 years old) has stopped working. The light on the ice maker is out as well, which suggests that it's probably dead. The website says the replacement part is wr30x30972. Is that correct, and are installation instructions included? This ice maker is located in the bottom drawer, so it's going to require some gymnastics to replace and i will need instructions. Thanks, steve e.
