Metal pegs for replacement door were not cut down to correct length
It was clear that the metal pegs that sit in the microwave frame were not cut down to the right size. The cut line was there but there was extra metal material.
I made a few trips to Loews before finally purchasing a dremel and was able to grind down the excess metal on the pegs. Once that was complete the door assembly fell r

Note: You do have to take the squire plastic interior frame piece out to have extra room to fit the top peg in. Once the door locks into the frame holes just pop the plastic frame back in and your are done.

What is the trick to putting on a new door to this microwave oven?

Hi Georgia,
Thank you for your question. Before replacing the door assembly on your microwave, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Next, open the door and use a Phillips head screwdriver to unthread the 2 screws securing the front vent. Then use a putty knife to pry the vent off. With the vent removed you can now lift off the old door assembly and set it aside. Next,now install the new door assembly by inserting the hinge pins into the holes in the hinges. Reinstall the front vent by aligning the top edge first and then press the bottom edge into place and secure it with the screws. Plug the microwave back in. Your microwave should now work for you. I want to order a new cover for my microwave door as it is has ingrained fingerprints and is a mess. Do I need to reorder a complete door assembly for that?
