I need the center grate for this range but it only comes with a griddle in the center. Can this grate be used in the center?

The feet on all 3 grates on the top of our new stove are scratching the stainless steel. We recognized this problem as a design flaw early on. Two adults are using the stove. Despite efforts to be very careful, the problem is getting worse. What do you advise? Is there some sort of bumper we can put on the protruding foot of each corner of the grate? Beyond this annoying issue, we have been very happy with this stove purchase.
