Oven works fine but the middle number on the oven temp display will not show up so it's hard to tell what temp you are setting the oven at. Example 3- -0 could be 300,310,350,etc.

Have to set temperature higher to get the temperature i want but can also be erratic
For model number CGEF3042KFF
Hi Jeff, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I replaced my bake element due to it blew a hole out of the old one. I replaced it with a new one turned the oven on bake and broil and neither element is working. My question is do I need a new oven control board? When my old bake element blew it arced to the bottom cover that sits over the element.
For model number LGEF3043KFN
Hello Danny, Thank you for the question. When the old element burnt out it could have shorted out the Control Board and caused damage. Unfortunately the board will need to be replaced. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Our stove has, for the last couple of weeks, bin getting really hot and burning food. I had food in the oven and cooked the first tray just fine then burned the second super fast. Same happened to my wife. Then a week later the stove top got so hot the heat wurped a very heavy stainless steel frying pan when set on 2. What do you think is the cause?
For model number LGEF3033KBF
Hi Travis, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the oven probe PartSelect Number PS11731755. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

Broiler works oven doesn’t. I googled this and it seems to be part #316557236. Any thoughts?
For model number Fgef3042kf
Hi Denise, Thank you for your question. If the broil element is working, but the oven will not heat when the baking function is on, then the issue is likely with the oven sensor, sometimes called the oven thermostat, and you will need to check it with a multi-meter. When testing the sensor with a multi-meter, the sensor should be tested at room temperature and it should be unplugged from the oven. You will need to measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. Replace the oven sensor if the reading is less than 900 Ohms or more than 1200 Ohms. If this checks out fine, you will need to check the electronic control board, the bake element and the wiring between these parts to see which once is causing the issue. For the electronic control board, you will need to look for signs of damage, wear and burn marks. If it shows any of these signs, the board will need to be replaced. For the bake element, set your multi-meter to the Rx1 setting, and touch the probes to the element’s terminals. The exact reading of a functional bake element varies from model to model, but almost all fall somewhere between 19 and 115 ohms of resistance. Refer to your owner’s manual to determine what reading your test should produce. If your element no longer has continuity or is damaged, you will need a replacement bake element. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

Set my oven to 325 and put cakes in to bake. Oven overheated and burned cakes within minutes. F10 code was beeping and it appeared the broiler was on. Unplugged oven and reset. Set oven to 325 again. The same thing happened. Would this be a control board issue?
