This fuse, also known as a cartridge fuse, is a genuine OEM replacement part for microwaves. It has a glass cylindrical body with a metal cap on each end. The cap connects the fuse to the circuit. If the current goes above the fuse rating, the element inside the glass will melt and cut off the electrical current to the appliance. This protects the circuit and surrounding components from overheating and becoming damaged. Once the fuse is blown, the appliance will likely not operate at all, however, the fuse is designed to be easily replaceable. It is recommended to use insulated gloves and to avoid touching any exposed wiring connections. To replace the fuse, use a fuse puller to grip the metal caps and lift it out of the holder. Place the new fuse in the holder and ensure it is properly seated. Turn the appliance back on and check that the circuit is functioning.

Where is the fuse located and how do I get to it?

Hello John, Thank you for the question. The Fuse is located on a fuse board on the right side of the unit behind the control panel. Once the power has been disconnected the microwave will need to be set on a flat surface. The vent grill and microwave cover will need to be removed to access the fuse located at the top of the right-hand side. The appliance will hold a charge that can be dangerous, even with the appliance unplugged. We advise to use caution. We hope this helps!

When I press the start button it turns off and flips the breaker. I flip the breaker back in it turns back on meaning it shows the time and the lights and exhaust fan still work fine. Problem is just when you hit the Start button it triggers the breaker to cut off.

Hello Timothy, Thank you for the question. As long as the proper Fuse was installed, we suggest testing the the Door Switches and making sure they are properly seated in the holder. Thank you for your question. If your microwave is tripping the breaker, then it may not be plugged into its own dedicated circuit. Unplug from it from the electrical outlet where it is currently located and plug it into another outlet. If you turn it on and it does not trip the breaker, it was sharing a circuit with another appliance and it was too much for the breaker. If you turn it on and it does trip the breaker, then a part inside the microwave is causing the issue. You will need to inspect the fuse, the diode, the magnetron, the door switches and the capacitors. For safety reasons, since the microwave capacitor can still store electricity even when the microwave is unplugged, it is usually advised that you discharge the capacitor before any attempt at repair. Is this 20 amp time delay fuse. I just replaced the fuse three days ago and it blew out yesterday.
