Bad regulator
We were building a house and had a very tight budget. We wanted our cabinets and granite to fit high end appliances so we wouldn't have to do a complete remodel to upgrade appliances. We got our appliances used but it good shape. We cleaned them up and replaced anything that looked worn. I saw our same appliances at the hardware store. Th
... Read moree oven was $1800 and the range was $800. We paid $500 for both and around $100 in parts. The appliances work perfect and look brand new. No one knows they were used appliances and we got to spend the savings on the nicer granite!

I have a Whirlpool g7cg3665xs00 cook top. It is set up for natural gas. I need to change it over to propane. I ordered the conversion kit. All that was in that kit was the orfices. The guy installing the propane lines told me i need to change out the regulator. Is this True? What else do i need to change?
For model number G7CG3665XS00
Hi Ricky, thank you for your question. No actually. If you look at your regulator you will see a cap that has a little slit in the middle of it. Unscrew that cap. Underneath of that you will see a little part screwed attached behind it. To switch to it propane you just unscrew that part and screw it back on with the opposite side of that little part. Basically you flip it around and then screw it back on to the backside of the cap. Then you screw the cap back in place on the regulator and you are good to go. That is actually the case for most regulators. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

There is an adapter piece that goes between the regulator and the gas tubing. Do you carry this part?
For model number JGD3536BS00
Hello Len, thank you for your question. The brass threaded connector is part of the gas tubing part. You would have to order Part Number: PS3494962 to get that brass connector. Please enter the part number into the site for current price and availability. Good luck with your repair!

My burners do not light on their own anymore. You need to use a match. It also takes a long time to get a large Flame. What could the problem be?
For model number KFGS366VSS03
Hi Todd, Thank you for the question. If you no longer hear the "click" when you turn the knob to the lite position, I suggest replacing the Wire Harness that has the Spark Ignition Switches, PartSelect Number PS11745747. You can also try to clean the gas valve to make sure there is no blockage that prevents enough gas from passing through. Hope this helps!

I have my Whirlpool cooktop pop and has a smoke. There is no gas supplied to the burner. Is the regulator affected by the pop (explode) or is the burner kit problem?
For model number G7CG3064XS00
Hello Ronald, Thank you for the question. If the issue is just with one burner you may need to replace the Gas Tubing to the burner. You may also need to check the Spark Module and the Regulator. We do not recommend using the appliance or turning the gas on going tot he appliance until the issue is resolved. We hope this helps!
