My bottom freezer stays cold but refrigerator stays warm . I have cover off of motor evaporator fan and when I plug in it doesn’t move. Does it need new motor.

We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!

New evap-motor where to place ground wire
For model number MBR2258XES3

Hello Larry, thank you for your question. There should be a terminal on the motor itself that the ground wire is attached to, then the screw goes through the motor mounting bracket to hold it into place. This video should provide some help on how to complete that repair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7zEunxy70Y
I hope this helps!

The evaporator motor PS11773024 I bought for a Maytag MBF2258WES3 refrigerator did not come with the wiring harness attached to the posts on the motor. Does it make a difference which wire goes to which post? It's a different motor than the original, which was hard-wired. Not the ground wire, I can see where that is supposed to go.
For model number PS11773024

Hi Steve, thank you for contacting us. The evaporator motor, part number PS11773024 comes with all the appropriate wiring that will attach motor terminals. You need to attach the right wire to the right terminal as it does makes a difference. The ground wire should be connected to the ground terminal. We have attached a relevant video that will help you install the wires with the right motor terminal. We hope this helps, good luck with the repair!

Water drips down out of freezer onto floor. Do you think evap motor went out.
Part select ps11773024 . Are do i have a clogged line?
For model number 596.72003016

Hello Shane, thank you for contacting us. Mostly, a clogged drain tube causes the water to back up and drip out of the freezer. Also, check the freezer and make sure there is no ice build-up because the ice or frost build-up can block the drain hole, causing the water to leak out onto the floor. If this is the case, the issue is probably related to a faulty defrost heater, part number PS11738607. The evaporator fan motor is not a likely culprit of this issue. It circulates cold air within the refrigerator. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

My freezer keeps freezing up at the back then freezering up the whoe reezer ca you elp me
For model number wrf736sdaw13

Hello Shirley, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing/replacing the thermistor, evaporator fan motor, and defrost heater. If the issue persists, the problem could be with the electronic control board that puts the unit into defrost mode. I hope this helps!

No evap. fan function, freezer cold, refrigerator not cold.
My unit was a bottom mounted freezer, the door assembly and side out rack unit took more time then the repair. Once you take the back panel off it is just a matter of unplugging and two screws. Easier to pull fan mounting housing out to replace motor. Be careful its all plastic, pot off fan blades off shaft, pot out old motor, pot in new motor, slide fan blades back on shaft, make sure you get the mounting housing behind the duck that goes up to your refrigerator section, two screws and plug in connections and your done. Put back panel, rack and door assembly back in and you are friggen again, once you plug it in of course.

Evaporator fan motor stopped working
I'm a 37 year old woman who has never worked on a fridge before, ever.
I was able to google how to run diagnostics on it and determine what the issue was.
Once I received the part I was able to take apart the freezer to get to the motor. Remove the old motor and install the new motor.
This was extremely easy I watched a couple of the youtube videos provided here and now it's running just fine.

It Works!!!
The part looked different but fit right into place. The fridge is cold again and the freezer works better also. Found a huge ice block around piping and thermostat. Melted it before swapping motors. Taking doors off of freezer most difficult part.

Motor-evap works great at a reasonable price!
We ordered our motor-evap at 3:45 p.m. on a Saturday and received an email that it would arrive on the following Tuesday. Unfortunately, we had a terrible ice and snowstorm that week with no mail or other deliveries for two days and the part did not arrive until Friday morning. We understood the delay and were thankful that we could use our garage as a walk-in cooler during that time since the refrigerator wasn't cooling! We would gladly use PartSelect again.

Gave the model number and exact information off the whirlpool refrigerator and they shipped the wrong motor evaporator, the lady assured me it would work. Make sure you have the part number off the original or it will not work!
