This part is a replacement door gasket for your refrigerator/freezer. The gasket is made of rubber and is black in color. The gasket runs along the perimeter of the refrigerator door and is used to keep a seal, so the refrigerator remains cold. If you notice that your refrigerator will not maintain a steady temperature or if it is noisy, it could mean that the gasket is torn or damaged. This product is sold individually and is an OEM part from the manufacturer.

Frig door gasket
I received the gasket and the packaging was not in good shape. The packaging was partially opened and not protecting the gasket seal. When i surveyed the gasket there were some areas where the gasket was crimped.I am not sure that the gasket will seal properly.I need to call the parts supplier and discuss my situation.Gary R

The instructions were"generic"
I went on the web site to see the exploded view of the fridge door, seeing that the gasket fit behind the white plastic inner dor liner. Once I realized that, the fix was tedious (lots of screws) but easy. Parts Select is an excellent resource I have used other times and will continue to use.

Does the door come apart, when removing the door gasket? Door outer part, separate from the inner plastic door with the shelves on it , gasket fits between them, do i need to remove the door off the freezer, or can i just open the door, remove gasket screws, remove gasket, slip new gasket between door skin and inner plastic door part with shelves in it ? Thanks
For model number Plfu1778es2
Hello Ed, Thank you for the question. You do not need to take the door apart to install the gasket. You should be able to push the gasket into the channel without taking the panel and liner apart. You can leave the door on the appliance but it will be difficult to install. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
